“A perfect romantic hideaway with some great inns/pubs just a short drive away.”

Great woodcutter's cabin on a beautiful estate. We chose it for it's location as we wanted to visit the Monkey Forest at Trentham as well as enjoy the Peaks. We like to go out to eat and there were some lovely pubs nearby serving good food. The stables bar at Monsal Head Hotel was particularly good (with amazing views) as was the Druid Inn at Birchover. We felt like we didn't spend much time at the Cabin (2 night break) but made good use of the hot tub when we returned in the evenings. We also treated ourselves to a massage which was available on site before we went home.
We appreciated milk, Cava & chocolates waiting for us in the fridge. The only gripe would be not knowing in advance that if you wanted a hot shower, you would need to shower VERY quickly before the water ran cold. There were no instructions for heating and we assumed it was programmed to be off, however, there was a bit of an autumn nip in the air when we were there & it would have been nice to get out of the tub into a cosy cabin. (We did discover a heater under the bed before we left).
One suggestion we would put forward, given the price of the stay, would be later check-out time (midday?) - especially as check-in is not until 4pm. I suppose some couples would hole up for the whole weekend, & going out was our choice, but we didn't have much time there & it would have been nice to be able to relax and enjoy it on the final day instead of having to check out by 10am. Would definitely recommend.

“A rural, peaceful hidden gem”

Beautiful cabin in a peaceful location. Stayed for 2 nights and only bumped into one other neighbour once in the car park. Set within the grounds of Harthill Hall (but owned privately), it has lovely views and is not far from Bakewell. Hot tub was lovely and the accommodation was fully kitted out (loved the radiator/mirror and handy mod con kitchen light) with such a homely stylish feel. Will definitely rebook and thoroughly recommend to friends, a lovely find.

“Relaxing break, great location”
Reviewed 13 May 2014 for a stay in May 2014

This cabin is fab and would deffo recommend, we've stayed in many cabins but this is far the best. Great location, private and very quiet. Excellent for a relaxing break, chill in hot tub. Some great views and walks in the area, Devenshire Arms in Beeley is a must the food and service is excellent and only 25 minute drive through the country side. Thank you for great holiday x

In a nicely tucked away spot, woodcutter's is a great little place in a lovely part of the country. The cottage provides everything needed with the hot tub as an added bonus. A great find and one we will visit again.

“Best break ever!”
Reviewed 11 April 2014 for a stay in March 2014

Me and my partner stayed in the cabin for a 3 night break in arch and it was wonderful!
The setting is beautiful and quiet, with easy access to bakewell centre and within walking distance of nearby villages. We visited bakewell the first day and hiked for the other two. There are plenty of gorgeous scenic walks around the area, perfect for appreciating englands natural beauty as it's so easy to forget when you live in a city!
The cabin itself was immaculate and furnished to an outstanding spec, no detail has been forgotten and all you could need in the kitchen is there (including complementary champagne). The bedroom and living room are very comfortable and we cannot forget the hot tub! What a perfect way to end a hard days hike. We loved it.
We would highly recommend anyone to stay here it is well worth the money. We would love to visit again in the summer :)
