“Lovely Property”
Reviewed 23 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Very nice property well equipped with all that we needed, spotlessly clean and comfortable, in a friendly village we were supplied with good directions to find the place and supplied with essentials for our stay, Tea, Coffee, Milk etc. The owners were on hand if we wanted to know anything or any where to go, the area is lovely with plenty to see and do pretty much on the doorstep, it was perfect for us as a couple.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review, it is always helpful.
Firstly, Thank you for leaving our property in such a clean and tidy state, this is always appreciated.
We are really pleased to read that you enjoyed staying in The Barn @ The Old Bakery, and found it ideal for you as a couple. Our guests always appreciate our 'Welcome Pack',as some have traveled a long way and have not had the opportunity to shop. Although having the butchers shop a very short walk away always helps. WE are pleased that you met some of the locals in the village, it is a very friendly community who welcome visitors.
The property is ideally suited for those that wish to walk in the beautiful Peak District National Park, with walking from 'the door'. Equally it is well suited for those guests who wish to simply visit local attractions such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, or the vast number of National Trust properties close by.

“Lovely cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 14 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We spent a week in this comfortable and well equipped cottage. The Barn @ The Old Bakery has been thoughtfully converted and is just right for 2 people. It is well located for exploring the Peak District and Derbyshire, very close to Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell and Buxton and a variety of other lovely places! It has been mentioned that the access is narrow for cars, and it is, but ours is quite wide and we managed to get in and out every day with no problems - just take it slowly!! Wi-fi can be a bit temperamental but in our case got better as the week went on.
Ken and Carol who live just next door are very friendly and accommodating and leave a welcome pack which includes a very welcome bottle of wine - just what you need after a long journey!

The Barn @ The Old Bakery proves to be a perfect place to use as a base to explore the beautiful Peak District National Park.
As you point out, so much is on the door step. Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Bakewell, Buxton all offer great days out.

“Lovely accomodation that is excellently equipped in a beautiful village!”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The cottage is lovely with everything you could possibly need, the kitchen being well equipped and all the other things that make a stay away like being at home. It was spotlessly clean, important for us as we stayed with our 9 month old child and was well positioned in the village. The provision of wine and milk is a great touch and Ken and Carol are lovely, friendly and helpful. The butchers next door is great and very handy and the village is beautiful with some lovely walks. Would definitely recommend.

“Perfect place in an ideal location”
Reviewed 10 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

The Barn at the Old Bakery is a lovely, very clean, comfortable self-catering flat with all the facilities you need for a relaxing break. It is situated in a very quiet, friendly village, close to Bakewell, Chatsworth etc., and the village of Youlgrave has a nice selection of pubs and small shops - discovered the cake shop in the centre on our last day! Definitely recommend this accommodation to anyone (assuming you are ok with an outside staircase up). Lovely views from the dormer windows over the sheep fields.

We are pleased to read that you enjoyed staying at The Barn @ The Old Bakery. We have tried to equip the property with all the facilities and equipment that we think is needed.
We are very fortunate to have two good shops and a bakery in the village, as well as 3 pubs all producing good quality home cooked food: all within 1 minutes walk of our property. The village is extremely friendly.
Our proximity to Bakewell, Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House offer guests excellent days out, as you discovered. Equally you can walk or cycle from the door to explore the beautiful Peak District National Park.
We hope to see you again when you continue your explorations.

“Perfect :)”
Reviewed 31 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We had a lovely stay at the Barn for our 1st anniversary and wish we could have stayed longer. The Barn was so homely and had absolutely everything we needed for a comfortable stay, it was spotlessly clean and prettily decorated. My husband asked Ken and Carol to arrange some flowers for me as a surprise on our arrival on his behalf which they kindly did and as all the reviews state it seems like nothing is too much trouble. Youlgreave is within easy reach of a variety of activities which suit all ages and there are beautiful walks right on the doorstep of The Barn. The food in the Farmyard Inn was the best by far but the hospitality in all the pubs in the village could not be faulted. We'd definately stay again! X
