1/5 because of how appallingly my sister-in-law and brother-in-law were treated at their wedding at Mr & Mrs Jones.
The day before the wedding the bride got some (terrifying) calls from the venue saying that if they didn't pay an extra previously undisclosed 5 grand they were going to cancel the wedding.. I can only imagine how much stress that adds to a day that's supposed to be the happiest in your life.
To add insult to injury, the hotel double booked some of the bridal party with other guests in the same room. A genuine mistake you might think - but the way a staff member called Brenda responded made it so much worse. They didn't fix the problem and ON THE DAY OF HER WEDDING, the same Brenda said to the Bride that she shouldn't (I quote) "give me that sh*t" and she should have "never given her the rooms that cheap anyway". I'm sorry, what? That's not how you do business point blank and it's certainly not how you treat a bride on her literal wedding day. It was truly shocking behaviour.
They also demanded a further undisclosed 3 grand for the buffet which was previously included - making that a total of 8k that the bride and groom had no idea about.
Obviously, this sort of thing means that anyone considering the venue for their wedding, shouldn't - unless you want to be sworn at on your wedding day and suffer thousands of pounds of hidden charges.
Chris was a legend though, you made a terrible situation as good as it could be on that day - we love you Chris <3
