Mu hubby and I visited the Anglers Rest for the first time last night. The Bar / Restaurant was very welcoming, cosy with a big rkading log fire burning brightly.
The Guinness was poured perfectly Nd one of the best pints I've had in ages.
To start my hubby had the chowder. It was delicious. Creamy and full of fish.
Main course i had the Thai Red Chicken Curry which was served with rice, poppadom and a side of homemade chips. It was really tasty with just the right amount of spice to leave a little tingle to the lips.
My hubby is a 'steak' man. His sirloin was a big 10 ounce. It was cooked perfectly was moist and succulent. Served with pepoer sauce and sweet potato fries. Not a mirsel left on the plate.
Dessert was scrumptious sticky toffee pudding served with toffee sauce and caramel ice cream. Pity there are so many calories in it.lol.
We did have to wait for the food. All freshly cooked so a little wait is to be expected.
Staff all very friendly and the whole ambience of the evening was relaxed and cosy
We will definitely be back. Maybe again thus weekend when there will be live music in the function room
