The most place has benefitted from a recent lick of paint and addition of new furniture in the communal areas, the bar and dining areas look really nice.
The room was basic but very clean. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get any sleep. Firstly, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like a worn out and very cheap mattress. My partner has hip issues and had to keep sitting up because of it. This has never happened in other places we’ve stayed.
It was a divan bed on castors and, presumably because it was so cheap, it was very light and so it kept shifting away from the wall so one of us had to keep getting out and moving it back. We considered putting the mattress on the floor.
The bed linen itself was very fresh but the pillows were like pancakes. No extra blanket or pillows provided.
The breakfast was really good, a great selection. The waiting staff were lovely, really attentive.
The receptionist (I can’t recall her name) who checked us in was extremely helpful and friendly.
A mixed bag really. The staff are great, it’s very clean now (it was never really dirty though), the breakfast was really good.
However, they need to get some of the fundamentals right- hooking the beds to the walls would be a start. It is athletically more pleasing, particularly in the common areas, but I don’t feel that we got quite what we paid for this time. We’re both really tired today and my partner is sore so we’re having to head home earlier than planned.
