Another great stay at the Inn

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 28 Oct 2024
My wife and I and small dog have recently returned from a weekend stay at the Inn. We have stayed there many times over the years and a big selling point to us is the dog friendliness of the hotel. Many hotels claim to be dog friendly but in reality they aren't and for instance you won't be able to dine with your pet or many parts of the hotel will be off limits to your dog - this is most definitely not the case with the Inn. Every time we visit there has been some improvement and this time the bar/restaurant areas had been refurbished. The bedrooms and public areas of the hotel are all comfortable and tastefully decorated and the bedrooms are spacious. The staff are second to none and are helpful and friendly without exception. We dined in the hotel both evenings and were pleasantly surprised that the menu had been recently updated - we were very happy with the choices on offer and the quality of the food. We particularly enjoyed the Seafood Thermidor and the Beef Kebabs. Breakfasts were also great. All in all we had a lovely stay (even despite the inclement October weather) and can't wait for our next visit.

The most place has benefitted from a recent lick of paint and addition of new furniture in the communal areas, the bar and dining areas look really nice.

The room was basic but very clean. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get any sleep. Firstly, the bed was extremely uncomfortable. It felt like a worn out and very cheap mattress. My partner has hip issues and had to keep sitting up because of it. This has never happened in other places we’ve stayed.
It was a divan bed on castors and, presumably because it was so cheap, it was very light and so it kept shifting away from the wall so one of us had to keep getting out and moving it back. We considered putting the mattress on the floor.
The bed linen itself was very fresh but the pillows were like pancakes. No extra blanket or pillows provided.

The breakfast was really good, a great selection. The waiting staff were lovely, really attentive.
The receptionist (I can’t recall her name) who checked us in was extremely helpful and friendly.

A mixed bag really. The staff are great, it’s very clean now (it was never really dirty though), the breakfast was really good.

However, they need to get some of the fundamentals right- hooking the beds to the walls would be a start. It is athletically more pleasing, particularly in the common areas, but I don’t feel that we got quite what we paid for this time. We’re both really tired today and my partner is sore so we’re having to head home earlier than planned.

Just spent 2 nights at this great hotel, with the friendliest staff! The location is perfect for exploring the north coast. Good parking, a huge room, and an excellent breakfast. Very doggy friendly too. Special thanks to Debbie on reception and Drew from the breakfast staff for being so cheerful and helpful. We highly recommend this lovely hotel.

Lovely Hotel! We booked for one night while touring the Antrim coast. Room was spacious, comfy beds. We ate dinner at the hotel and it was delicious. Best of all, the savvy desk clerk caught and foiled a potential fraud against us. Thanks again!

Ordered medium rare steak received a well done steak , overpriced small chewy piece of meat with no accompaniments , not even a tomato or onion ring for the price , unfortunately won’t rush back as it wasn’t only my steak that was disappointing in our group of six.

As much as I love this wee place unfortunately this was the one of the worst stays in the whole time we’ve been coming.our last stay was December and it was order breakfast at the table, this time it’s a buffet which we weren’t aware of or made aware of when we were seated we had to work it ourselves.both mornings we went down at ten and had to either wait or ask for food as there was little or none left but it did come piping hot.the only good bit about the buffet is the sausages.we had dinner on the first night which was a three course meal and I didn’t finish any course as it was bland and didn’t looked cooked properly.the room was on the third floor over looking the bins and where staff can have a cigarette or fresh air.it needs redecorated as it’s very run down with paint flaking off the walls round the window and windows need sorted.room was cold the first night even with the heater on and we had to wedge the bathroom door shut as the wind blowing in the window was making it rattle and you couldn’t leave the door open because of the cold coming in.the mattress was uncomfortable and the pillows were flat.the stairs to the room weren’t hoovered from the Friday to the Sunday as there was grass on them the whole time.the staff are so well mannered and the the reception area and our room was clean but to pay the money you do for the breakfast and the room I think it could maybe our last stay which is a shame
