Description: Something is most definitely brewing in Portrush - beer is making a quiet and classy comeback! By forging strong links with domestic, individual, artisan brewers Kiwi's Brew Bar is able to source suds that you simply can't get elsewhere along with the best known beer brands. The vast bottled beer selection can be perused through the doors of several chillers situated on both sides of the bar, but a better bet is to ask the knowledgeable and friendly staff for suggestions. Every month we host a 'Meet the Brewer' night featuring an up-and-coming brewery. Pokertree Brewery came in June while 8 Degrees Brewery is coming at the end of July. While our IPA Fridays feature live music and guest beers from 5.00Pm. If beer is not your thing, Kiwi's Brew Bar also has local craft cider and gin on offer as well as quality wines and Prosecco for the ladies! 'Local' doesn't stop to the brews. Kiwi's Brew Bar collaborates with local music talent too. Live acoustic music is available several times per week and at the weekends with 'Brews and Blues' Sundays being particularly popular with the patrons. The pub is located in one of Portrush's oldest buildings reintroduced as a pub with a modern twist: its eclectic style is a mixture of New Zealand as well as Northern Ireland culture and influences! The site was originally constructed around the 1930s as a two-screen cinema, the Majestic Cinema, which opened on 7th April 1939 and had seating for 792. The building was later refurbished and its art deco style restored to its former glory. Today the cinema, which has a seating capacity of 250, is still a main feature of the building and is used to show independent movies, international rugby and football matches and boxing events. The impressive auditorium can be hired for conferences or exhibitions and there is also an outside balcony overlooking Main Street which is perfect for an alfresco drink. Kiwi's Brew Bar, the home of craft beer and live music, is family friendly, can host private parties and is open 7 nights a week. Plans are afoot for a small, honest, pub food menu based on locally sourced ingredients and it will soon be opening early for coffee and pastries.

Even though we turned up earlier than the stated opening time, the guys at Kiwi were kind enough to open the kitchen ahead of time and serve us and our 2 kids. The burgers and fries were great and my burger was as delightfully heavy as a small brick -- all of us enjoyed our lunch. We were the only people in at the time, but you can sense that it would be a great atmosphere when it's busy.

Thank Edward E

The Kiwi bar speciality are chicken wings advertised outside come in a try our chicken wings. Twice we have been here and guess what no wings, first time their sole supplier had let them down second time they had run out on Sunday and would not have more in until Wednesday, who's in charge of ordering here? How can this be, there is a butchers a few doors down a large supermarket in town that sell fresh wings. Sorry this time one star due to kitchen management, maybe we will try again sometime the burgers looked good!

I am really sorry Keith you missed out again.
We get a wing delivery twice a week, Wednesday and Friday. These are the two day that the amazing butcher in town get his chicken deliveries. I pride our food on been as fresh as possible. So i limit our wings to 60kg a week. They are truly great and that is why they sell out. It has nothing at all to do with kitchen management its purely a quality issue. As for buying meat from a supermarket to sever in the bar, this would never happen. Local is best.
Next time you are coming up call me, I will put aside a portion or two for you. No problem at all.

Until next time
Kris
