We ate here for Sunday Carvery and were very impressed. They had a great selection of cold starters and 3 hot starters to choose from. Great selection of meats on the Carvery as well as great selection of desserts. What impressed me even more was the staff. All the staff were attentive but i watched one young waitress go out of her way to help an elderly lady dining alone. She helped her get her starters, then returned and accompanied her up to the dinner server and carried her plate etc and returned to the table throughout to check if she was ok and if she needed anything else. I also observed another family who were in and their teenage daughter was a vegan, the chef came out to the table to ask what she would like/eat and made a dish specifically for her in the middle of service.

Called over from hilltop caravan park for family meal and def surprised after last yrs disappointment
2 adult steaks and 1 for our 3 yr old who scoffed it down so knew it was good. Very good portions and very friendly helpful staff
Let partner and kids go bk home and I enjoyed the bar for few hrs.

ONLY downside is very poor management who have no ambition to develop the hotel and increase foot fall. If I owned this I would shut it mid Oct, totally gut the bar eating area and update it. Add entertainment, encourage the 600+ caravan users opposite to use and do drink promotions. This could be a gold mind so forget about local politics and bring magherbuoy back to live. Large nite club area unused and again another example of poor management

Very poor experience-at least 5 staff stood between bar and till-I had to ask for one of them to take our order -no one seemed bothered !
My food was awful-chicken overcooked -approx 5 pieces ,salad -drab looking -peanut sauce - conjeeled -seemed to have developed a coating -perhaps left sitting out ! -waitress helpful and apologised offering a second meal -I chose chilli beef -again awful ! Meat burnt -more drab salad ! I asked for sour cream -waiter presented us with fresh cream in a ramekin ...again waitress helpful apologising profusely ! I couldn’t eat second meal so asked for same waitress again, telling her we would just take the bill to which she again apologised stating the bill would be scrapped ! Extremely disappointing, will not recommend to anyone ! Money lost on what could have been a very satisfying meal from an otherwise well thought of hotel! Will sit in the port traffic next time and rock up at the Ramore !!

Was not impressed. Deal looks good 2 courses and drink for £12. Service was efficient and food arrived quick however standard of food was poor.
We ordered kids fish fingers for our 1 year old and they arrived completely over cooked and uneatable. Waitress was prompt to apologise and replace them with sausages

Both adult meals the burgers were poor... had a crispy exterior as if they had been thrown in fryer to reheat them. Chips were hard and did not taste great. Ordered breakfast burger which included bacon (burnt) and black pudding (was crumbled and not in one piece) and both tasted again deep fried

Dessert could've been saving grace but more disappiontment. Fresh cream is not fresh... they use mock cream which tatsed like it had been left out of the fridge exposed to elements as it had formed a slight crispy exterior

After engaging with staff they agreed to not charge us for one of the meals as apology but still felt like i'd overpaid for the quaility we recieved.
