Description: The French Rooms is situated in the heart of the Bushmills, home to the world's oldest licensed distillery and the Gateway to the Giant's Causeway - a World Heritage site. Our vision is for a warm, welcoming and informal setting, a place to meet up with friends, drop in for a morning cup of coffee with a 'treat', browse through our shop or savour the flavours of our elegantly prepared dishes. There's lots to explore, firstly the shop with its eclectic range of French inspired gifts then the Cafe with its 'snugs' and zinc topped tables and bar counter. The "Moulin Rouge" is ideal for a semi private party of up to 10 persons or try the Garden Room which leads to the garden terrace which, in good weather, is a sun trap. On colder days the Garden Room fire is the perfect spot for relaxing with a newspaper and a snack.

Was here on Saturday night the atmosphere was nice. We ordered a mixed meat platter x2 and 2Veg and bean platter arrived and were left on the table even though we told the waitress we didn’t order that another waitress who seemed to be in charge arrived and enquired did we not order them and left only to come back and say “I knew I wasn’t wrong” but still left the two not ordered platters on the table. A waitress came and took them away and we got what we ordered which turned out to be very nice. Our main dishes too were very good. We than ordered digestives an Armagnac,a Drambuie and an Grand Marnier The waitress didn’t know what a Grand Marnier was but our friend explained it was beside the Drambuie on the shelf any way we ended up getting 2 Drambuie and I brought one back and got a Grand Marnier instead Then the waitress who seemed to be in charge arrived and asked would we like the second Drambuie as it was poured and it was accepted by us only to discover we were charged for it when the bill arrived this left us with a bad feeling and we decided to leave only a small tip because we felt it was bad service overall

Love this restaurant always well trained friendly staff, visited here in October again, food served quickly and barring the breads at the start which a couple of slices were stale the rest of it was excellent.....my only quibble here is the horrible glasses for wine and the tables for two are far to close together....difficult to have a conversation without the other guests hearing everything.

Lovely friendly staff. Kids meal was great with fresh ingredients. Adults minute steak was thick. The steak not sealed and therefore tasted wrong. I think it needed a hotter pan. Disappointing as two adults and one child's one course lunch came to over £50 with no alcohol

Lovely setting, and they squeezed us in on short notice. Excellent vegetarian cheese rolls, and the salmon with stuffed zucchini was excellent for the celiac. The vegetarian mushroom tart was amazing for the vegetarian. The stout beer was great and the chenin blanc was decent. Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert which looked incredible for the tables that ordered.

This restaurant was recommended to us by our waitress at dinner the night before, and we were so happy she did. As soon as you walk in you find yourself in a small store before making your way to the restaurant in the rear, and all of it is decorated beautifully. The atmosphere is only part of the wonderful experience here. The staff are friendly, the music is relaxing, but most importantly the food is amazing! We all very much enjoyed our meals and would go back if we find ourselves in the Bushmills area again.
