Our children climbed in the fire engine, (all teenagers!!) and looked around the museum. The guide who was there who had travelled some way to take his turn was absolutely charming, informative and gentle with the young people, we were really captivated by the amount of thought that had gone in to this display it is a real gem, and having a fantastic cafe on its doorstep is a great advantage too

Lots of stuff to see they let you get into a real fire engine and the volunteers are really chatty and can help with any information. We really enjoyed looking around.

Popped in because of garden centre but not disappointed, good displays and a fire engine to climb over, also an ex Kent firefighter on hand to have a chat with, worth a visit.

As others have said this is a free museum at the back of a garden centre. Its fairly small, but there's plenty to see and do. There's a Dennis fire engine that the kids can get in and play around with plus a couple of other rooms with lots of interesting things to look at. The man that was looking after it was very helpful and friendly. You can give a donation which we thought it was well worth doing. Incidentally the garden centre that it is attached to is also very good - a garden centre that actually does plants! One of the best we've been to in many years. Both these places deserve to do very well. Well worth a visit even if you're not in the immediate area. We'll certainly go again. (When we went the road said it was closed, but you can access the garden centre and museum.)

Came here with 2 year old twins and a 6 year old after hearing about it on social media.
This place is amazing and though we were not there long we were really pleased that we went.
The boys got to go in a real fire engine and try hats on and pretend to drive. They loved it. There is also a museum which is fascinating and the men that work there are very knowledgeable. It's a free attraction but you can give a donation if you would like to. I would recommend this for fireman Sam fanatics.
