As others have said this is a free museum at the back of a garden centre. Its fairly small, but there's plenty to see and do. There's a Dennis fire engine that the kids can get in and play around with plus a couple of other rooms with lots of interesting things to look at. The man that was looking after it was very helpful and friendly. You can give a donation which we thought it was well worth doing. Incidentally the garden centre that it is attached to is also very good - a garden centre that actually does plants! One of the best we've been to in many years. Both these places deserve to do very well. Well worth a visit even if you're not in the immediate area. We'll certainly go again. (When we went the road said it was closed, but you can access the garden centre and museum.)

Came here with 2 year old twins and a 6 year old after hearing about it on social media.
This place is amazing and though we were not there long we were really pleased that we went.
The boys got to go in a real fire engine and try hats on and pretend to drive. They loved it. There is also a museum which is fascinating and the men that work there are very knowledgeable. It's a free attraction but you can give a donation if you would like to. I would recommend this for fireman Sam fanatics.

Took my grandson to see this little museum and he thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's not very big but extremely interesting. The retired fireman running it was very friendly and certainly knew a lot about the Kent Fire Service.
There's an old Dennis Fire Engine outside that the kids can clamber over and some picnic tables. The cafe was shut but we had a snack in the garden center which was very enjoyable.

We had no clue it was here - sometimes it is worth doing a map search of your own area as we live only a couple of miles from this! It is at the back of the garden centre so is nice and quiet. The staff a re all volunteers and ex-firefighters so are very knowledgeable and give some great information and anecdotes about their own experiences - worth coming for that alone, really. The centre will not take a long time to visit but the exhibits are varied and well labelled and there is a nice outside area and cafe (open weekends only) for families.

A nice touch , and very friendly staff, just a small museum attached to the garden centre itself. Free to enter and just ask for donations , and a plastic fire helmet £1.50 which my son loved.

Didn't stay long as only small stayed for 30minutes, but a nice idea if you need things at the garden centre , and had kids to keep amused.

A nice history of the fire service , and you can get into a fire engine again which is great for the kids. A nice visit and if you don't have kids sure you would immerse yourself for a bit longer
