This is an excellent value but VERY BASIC hotel. there is nothing to do at the hotel or nearby, it’s just a place to sleep and shower. It is staffed only part-time, in the mornings and the afternoon-evening. You can actually rent a room through a vending machine outside when no attendant is on service.
I picked this because it is a five minute walk to the University of Bordeaux and I’m taking a two weeks winemaking/vineyard course there. Perfect if you only need a place to sleep.
It’s very new, very clean, very well kept. There are literally ZERO amenities in the room; it’s just a bed, pillows, sheets and some IKEA cubbies to put clothes in. A small desk area and a chair. No clock, for instance, no minibar. The bathrooms are very clean and new and the shower is good, with a dispenser for a combination body wash/shampoo goo. If you run into staff, they are very kind and helpful, and the desk staff have a little English. There is a continental breakfast buffet, very small, for an extra charge - no eggs or meat, just coffee machine, juice, yogurt, cheese, bread and croissants.
So, for the price it’s a great deal! But be aware, you won’t have anything to do here but sleep, watch a little TV, shower in the morning and go.
