An excellent small restaurant, family owned and run. Food good and atmosphere relaxed. Personal service at all times. Lovely.

Last year there were twelve of us, but this year there were only three. The whole family can’t come every year, but we still thoroughly enjoyed our lunch, being well looked after by Simon and the staff.
Many thanks! See you next year.

Not often we can get Welsh lamb, well we did today for lunch.
Wonderful welcome from Simon, who looked after our damp jackets.
Good choice, could also order off the 'non Sunday lunch' menu.
Prompt service . Lamb was delicious, potatoes really good, New and roasted. Veg was ok.
Dessert good, Bill very good too.
Staff very helpful and polite. Worth a visit.

We were heading home after a morning shopping in Chester, and decided to avoid traffic by a detour along the Denbigh Road, from Mold towards Caerwys. We had enjoyed meals at the Cherry pie approx 25 years ago. We saw it was open and decided to stop there for lunch. it was a lovely warm and sunny day and there were seats available outside. The landlord greeted us with a big smile, and was very friendly. He asked us what we would like to drink and we both ordered cool iced still mineral water. He suggested we could have tap water with ice, which of course is free!
That was a great start. Then we decided to sit indoors, since it was hot outside, and nice and cool inside. We ordered our meal, and it soon arrived. The food was of excellent quality, and at a reasonable price. The final bill including desserts, came to £22.00. The hospitality had been so good, that I paid £25.00 and told him to keep the change. We were so happy with the atmosphere, the venue, and the food.
