Excellence is not enough to describe this place. Antonio, the owner, is an amazing guy.
If you wanna enjoy your food, let Antonio serves you. You don't even need a menu.

The best food you can ever find In this area.
The owner is nice, warm and fascinating and makes you feel completely at home!
We have eaten vegetable appetizers, pasta Grigia (white matriciana), lamb fried and stuffed. Every single dish has been perfect and has made our Pasquetta unforgettable!
Since my uncle lives close here, I will be back very soon..
Thank you Antonio for your welcome and for your sympathy:)

We drove from Rome to Caserta to L'Osteria di Antonio (total 3 hour drive) and i cannot be happier we made it to the restaurant. Even though we live in Rome, we are happy we found this roman restaurant in the south - this will be our new 'roadtrip' restaurant with family and friends.

We were told of L'Osteria di Antonio by Angela Merolla (a popular food and wine blogger in Italy) who had organized a lunch and wine tasting (Corte dei Papi wines) and so glad we accepted the invitation.

The day began with tasting of white Passerina wine with an antipasto of Fiore di Zucca (zucchini flower) with mozzarella, gateau of potato fresh bread and some delicious vegetables - you need to see the photos, this description just does not do it justice.

The first course included mezzemaniche alla gricia and bucatini all'amatriciana.

The second course - this was our FAVOURITE - oven cooked abbacchio (lamb leg), roman style artichoke and oven baked potatoes. What was amazing about this dish was that the lamb could be cut with our fork - not need for a knife, it simply melted in our mouths and the flavour was out of this world.

We made a promise to ourselves that we would return here simply for a lunch and this time with family and friends. It was absolutely delicious.

Did I mention that everything is fresh and delivered EVERYDAY? Did we mention that the cakes are ALL made in house, fresh? All ingredients are hand picked by the chef and the kitchen has no FREEZER - this means everything is always cooked on the day and the meat is always delivered fresh and never kept over night etc. It is simply amazing!

Antonio and Melina offer such great hospitality and for this event he had explained every dish how it was made and why it is called in that way! It really was an amazing day with great food and great wine!

We were so happy that we added this place to our blog touristsbychance.com - Caserta post - we don't do this for restaurants but this was worth it.

Over the last two years, my wife and I have eaten at L'Osteria di Antonio on four different
occasions.
We have traveled to Italy for the last 17 years to visit my grandparents' village of Cairano.
Only 45 miles to the west, we found Mr. Antonio de Stefano. My friends at the Basso Olive Oil Company have lunch with Antonio every Friday. He is the owner, chef and your waiter.
There are no menus, just the daily specials written on a chalk board. Antonio was born in Rome and cooked there for 35 years. To avoid the big city life in Rome, he moved south,to his parents' birthplace and opened his small restaurant 3 years ago .
We have many great meals throughout Italy, but L'Osteria di Antonio is the best. My favorite is his the Roman dish, spaghetti alla carbonara. My wife likes fresh local vegetables, especially the zucchini pasta . Be sure to have the wine from nearby Villa Raiano. ..Please tell Antonio, that we will be back in October 2015 for the wine harvest !
