A couple of friends invited us to this place that is more than one hour drive from our place in Italy. Eager to spend time with them, we accecped despite the long trip, but we finally found that there was also another good reason to go there: this place is insane!

Located on a hill with an astonishing view, It has internal parking tgat makes it very convenient.

Milan was terribly hot while this place was windy and and temperature was even too cold.

But the real surprise was inside: the food experience is fantastic and this can easily be a starred restaurant.

They offer bery special dishes, all accurately presended by the chef or a professionl waiter.

Bread was phenomenal as everything else, ans we had there one of the best meals of the last months ...

Price was very low compared to what we eat.

We will come surely back and is definitively worth the trip!

It was a gut feeling that drove us to La Madia. And on the way there we said thet it should have been realy good for the drive there takes quite some curves.
Bit then: a miracle. From the begin ing to the end. Without exeptions.
First of all: the ambiance. Splendid. An archetype of an italian familly restaurant.
Then: a service. The restaurant was full! Around 40or even more tables. (In the middle od nowhere!). But then we could not enjoy sthe staff more than we did. From the owner to many of them coming to our table. We still cannot understand how it is possible to be so efficient bit so friendly at the same time. One of best services we have ever experienced. And we have been all over the world in best possible restaurants.
An finally: the food.
Forget my words. Just go there.
We will definitely try to come again as soon as possible.

We had lunch at La Madia, and it was a challenging drive to the restaurant. Once there, the trip was worth it. La Madia is part of the local slow food movement and it shows. We ordered and split several dishes to include the popular manzo con polenta. Although we've had the dish before, this was the best version by far. We also had parmesan gnocchi, risotto with green vegetables, and panna cotta three ways. We were served fresh vegetables and a red pepper spuma to start and had a couple of interesting palette cleansers. Very little English is spoken here. Even though we speak some Italian, our server brought out a gastronomy "dictionary" in an effort to help describe our menu choices. There is a lot of pride in what the team at La Madia is doing and it shows. You will want to make reservations, if you wish to dine at La Media, as it gets very busy.

By mistake I'd written a review an excellent one to this place, meant for another restaurant with REAL Italian food in a different mountain .

So, my apologies.
This place came to us highly recommended so, we went.

Your welcome by a valet to park your car so prepare yourself this is going to be an expensive one and not even of anything you want to eat .

But it was quiet a drive up the mountain so we ate here or returned starving to our hotel.

This place resembled more a museum made out of an old barn than a restaurant for food likewise.

Pretentious, over the top , not much of it so you leave hungry all they cared about was bringing out the herbs, not the food, in which the so called food had so "delicately "being cooked in,"

It was so disappointing

the whole experience all I remember is having a small piece of meat followed by looking at the bag brought out for me to admire the herbs it had been cooked in.

They pride themselves on using only local produce - costing up or more then €100 euros for two - that's it! It was the guy who sold us the two platers of cold meat and 4 glasses of wine for exactly €100 Euros!!! That's in this set of Italian reviews, do read that one and save yourself a bit of money.

Any way we could understand nothing of the menu ( even here they went over the top) and my fiancé grew up in Italy and speaks the language fluently.

By the end of the lesson on the complicated menu, non the wiser we both ended up ordering something strange we did not enjoy.

The desert on the house is CANDY FLOSS on a wooden slate.

Disappointing to say the least and very expensive.

A big turn off and tacky. They have a shop right in the middle of the restaurant to make you spend more.

All in all this is no restaurant but a place to go and show of what dress you bought, eating is not really a priority, service was laking, food was appalling and I dint know what the fuss is about there is nothing striking about the place

Don't go here. More than half an hour climb up the mountains and it's nothing special
Just a poor example of bad nouvelle cuisine.

I do not recommend this pretentious place at all unless this is what your looking for .

We came here for a romantic dinner not to look at bag after bag of cooking herbs."

Extremely over rated I don't understand how they won an award of excellency.

This was a true waste and wasted one evening of our lovely holiday and of course a chance at having REAL Italian food.
