This is a small museum in the heart of Waitangi showcasing local artefacts and history. Apparently there are plans to modernise (it is old-fashioned, but no less interesting for all that). Free entry; open during the week.
The manager/curator, Eva, was very welcoming.

a jam packed museum full of details about the past life of the Chatham Islands a 'must do' visit. Combine with a visit to the old TV studio and a walk on the beach.

This museum in the government "center" contains artifacts from different periods of Chatham life, as well as old photos. It's only one room, but makes for a good and informative visit.

This is a very small museum but it is packed with heaps of information about Chatham and Pitt Islands. There is lots to read as well as to look at.

There is no charge but it is expected that a donation be given.

Nice to see a local person working in the museum, nothing like talking to those who have had families living on the Islands for generations with real stories to tell.

What a wonderful place to learn of the ancient and modern history of the Chatham Islands and their peoples. The contents of this building are a credit to the past and present islanders wanting to share and keep their history intact.
For so small a community, approx 600, spread between four settlements, it is a wonderful show piece with many irreplaceable artifacts within.
