We stayed at the bungalow for three nights and had a great time. We arrived late in the evening and had asked the owner if some food for our breakfast next morning could be bought in advance. When we got there the fridge was full with everything we had asked. The owner arranged that a local restaurant came to deliver some food for the night. What a great service.
The bungalows have a nice terrace overlooking the sea. There is a path down to a private beach, the path is pretty steep, but that should be more comfortable in a while.
We stayed at the bungalow with two adults and two small children. Our son could play in the garden and with the friendly dogs. We had a great time!
Easily the best part of our vacation was our time at Angelbay Bungalows. We were looking for a quick four days just sitting in the warm sun, reading books by the pool/beach and spending family time together. We got just about everything we wanted in Angelbay Bungalows. Beautiful accommodations, lovely property and close enough to good seafood restaurants and a grocery store. The kitchen was modern and had everything we needed to cook meals. We were impressed with the built-in espresso machine and the good quality cookware. The bathroom was a decent size and the shower was always hot and had good water pressure. Bedding was comfortable and everyone slept well in our party. My husband is an engineer and he remarked about the super well thought out, designed and built pocket sliding glass doors. The doors that face the sea were floor to ceiling sliding doors that allowed the option of glass door, screen door or solid panel to block the light and provide complete privacy. All slid into the wall and it was beautifully engineered. The grounds are manicured beautifully. Landscaping is picturesque with flowers growing and nice green lawns to sit out on in the sun. We loved the beautiful, friendly dogs that live on the property too. The two Greek Shepherds were around to say hello every once in a while but never a bother or a nuisance. The bungalows are immaculate and comfortable and decorated beautifully. The private beach is lovely and sunrises and sunsets here are wonderful! Even though this property is a bit away from Thessaloniki, it was well worth the drive as we really wanted to be somewhere peaceful and relaxing and scenic and that describes Angelbay Bungalows perfectly!
We were disappointed that the pool wasn't yet opened. Totally understandable that it is still too cold for the Greek people but for us coming from Germany or the Swedish family in the next door bungalow, it would have been nice to know this upfront as it was part of what we pictured when we thought of this trip… just relaxing by the pool. We checked the website to see if it mentioned a season that the pool was opened or closed but nothing was mentioned. Also, the kayak wasn't available as mentioned on the website. Lastly, the beach was pretty filthy on the morning we arrived, but someone from Angelbay Bungalows went down and cleaned the beach up, making it a nice place to sit and watch the water. The burning of trash was a smell that seemed to permeate the air at times and that was not so pleasant. Also, the mosquitos - which aren't necessarily the fault of Angelbay Bungalows were really bad! We have over 100 mosquito bites between four people. I do think that the Angelbay Bungalow people sprayed for mosquitos the day before we came, but it did not make much of a difference. Lastly, the pictures on the website depict an easier beach access. The walk down and back up is not for people who aren't pretty mobile. It's pretty steep and only part of it has stepping stones for footing.
