Wonderful spot. As business travellers we wanted to stay outside the City but close enough to attend meetings without parking issues. This hotel is on the Bayswater peninsula and 5 minutes walk to the Ferry. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and will drive you to the ferry if it is raining or you just don't feel like walking. The views from most rooms are water and many have balcony's. The hotel comprises mostly of small units so we were able to do basic cooking when we didn't feel like eating out or needed to work through breakfast. Wi-fi is free for every device which is very helpful. The rooms are clean and modern and bright. You will need a car if you want to self cater and there is not much around the hotel within easy walking distance. We hired a car from the airport so had wheels to visit Devonport which is lovely. We took the ferry into town for meetings. The only very small downside to the hotel is that the rooms have been designed with no long mirrors and the cooking utensils are minimal. Very hard to come up with a down side! Highly recommended for those with a longer business stay and a car.

I had family visiting from the US and specifically requested a room with a city view because it was a special occasion. We arrived and had been allocated a Premier 2 bedroom apartment on the back of the building overlooking a carpark. Management did offer a cooked breakfast and a bottle of wine, however, this was certainly not the experience I had requested. If you want city views avoid room 307 !
Extremely disappointed as I could have booked elsewhere with a desirable view had I been advised that they could not give us the view which we requested.

Room tip: Do not accept room 307 if you want views to the city

We were greeted by a strong smell of damp carpet due to the huge wet
patch in the lounge. We mentioned it to the lady on the desk who
'sorted' it by leaving our outside doors open (ignoring the
security issue) and spraying 'shake and vac' all over the room.
The powder was left on the carpet. The carpet was still damp when we
checked out.(I Think there had been issues with flooding, if the stains
on the hall carpet was anything to go by). Our toilet broke twice. The
first time we were shown how to lift off the lid and mend it ourselves.
The second time parts were changed and it was then fine.We booked, and
paid for, a two bedroom/two bathroom apartment. We got a two
bedroom/one bathroom and separate wc with basin. When the toilet
broke, we had to walk through the other person's bedroom to use the
toilet in their en-suite.
Our evening meal was so bad it was hilarious. Side orders never showed. The waiter kept running the length of the corridor to collect the food. He had to phone for assistance when ask what lagers were available. Nice view though.
Problems do happen, it's how they are dealt with which makes a difference. Lack of an apology gives the impression of lack of care.
Be warn, the hotel charges credit card fee even if you use a debit card.

Room tip: choose another hotel if you want to stay somewhere where customer satisfaction matters.

This is a great location if you would like to be away from the hustle and bustle of the main CBD. Would suit families and couples who want to chill out a little. Great peaceful location with a short ferry ride to Auckland within walking distance (approx NZ$6 each way and a 7min walk) The rooms face Auckland city and Harbour - very picturesque. Rooms were modern and large with a separate bedroom and big bathroom. Breakfast was easy, not super great but simple and everything you needed to start your day. Just a warning-any special dietary requirements such as GF make sure you advise before you arrive as they don't usually cater for you. We will stay here again next time we visit Auckland.

We were looking forward to staying here until we arrived. The room smelt damp, it was dark and gloomy. Nothing like the pictures on the website. Smelt like people had smoked in the hallway. Overall not somewhere to relax for a few days. We wont be back.
