If you are visiting this corner of Saxony, this small-town hotel is a good base. We booked there because of genealogical interests, but found it was perfect for day trips to Wittenberg and Dresden. Hotel itself stretches across two buildings; parking behind is secure, but unfortunately was completely filled by DB trucks one night which meant we parked on the street--not a big problem as this place becomes VERY quiet after about 8 PM.
Room was a bit cramped, lighting not super and WiFi did not work there. A nice balcony overlooking the parking lot and back yards provided a fine place to receive Internet service, however. WiFi is also strong in the restaurant.
Staff members were friendly and service-oriented. Guests with no German may be pressed a bit. Cuisine at both breakfast and dinner was excellent. The latter was surprisingly upscale; we complimented the chef.
Decent value for the price, and watching the world go by on the square of this charming little Saxon town is added benefit. Town Information Office is just steps from the hotel. And if you have time, visit the ice cream shop across the square or the town's historical and scales museums!More
