An absolutely lovely building (inside and out) and swimming pool, however the owner's brother does live on the property - basically in the same house but with no access internally - they do also have a view of the pool and sunbathing area from upstairs windows, their balcony and a basement window (looking directly at the pool). During our stay their presence their was very clear and it did not feel very private at all. Only the upper far left window is owned by the holiday tenant the other two are owned by next door, the area of arch in the pictures is the next doors entrance.
The extent of cleaning by the owner was to once a week throw in a robotic pool cleaner that picks up solid material on the bottom of the pool, we actually cleaned the pool our self everyday we wished to use it.
Although the furnishing are beautiful, you may spend a week figuring out where the switches are for everything - this house is very strangely wired up to say the least!
Beware of Italian utility bills, electric especially, is outrageously high. The owner also requests you pay her cleaning bill and to also clean basically everything you use yourself (p.s. there was still glass on the floor from previous tenant, mess on window sill in kitchen and cobwebs everywhere..), an unusual request in our experience of staying in villas but I digress, we had a lovely time in Italy and in this villa but the experience could have been improved greatly by not requesting silly charges (i.e. 'Cleaning').
We wouldn't stay here again.
