Description: Welcome to The Bridge Inn at Upper Woodford's Facebook page! We are a family run business, with three generations behind the bar and over thirty years experience. We pride ourself in hearty home cooked food and real English ales. Why not pop in and relax in our garden that borders the river Avon. Less than 10 miles from Stonehenge and only 6 miles from Salisbury we are the perfect countryside escape.

This pub is getting a reputation for awful service and we experienced it first hand on our visit. Arrived at 11.15am wanting a coffee. We approached a member of staff to request service but were met with a blank refusal as 'we hadn't booked'. We could have understood this if the place was rammed but at 11 in the morning we were the only people there. Inexplicable and in the current climate foolhardy, we won't be going back.

Friendly young staff and a lovely setting with nice food but very lax Covid standards. All the staff behind the bar had no masks on at all making you feel very uncomfortable when paying the bill inside which you were forced to do. A group of four or five staff who I assume were from the kitchen were also sat at the end of the bar talking none wearing masks. The two waitresses who served us were very pleasant but their masks were worn around their chins most of the time and they had constant hand to face contact pulling them up to their noses and then down to their necks to talk with each other. At no time were we asked to check into the venue for track and trace. The management obviously do not take training or the care and welfare of their customers and staff very seriously. A very uncomfortable experience in the current climate.

Lovely setting but the food is poor. Chicken on the salad was so tough and salad was covered in dirt so obviously not washed. Worse than this was the lack of face masks. We didn’t see one member of staff with a mask - even in the pub. Will not go back.

First of all, the setting on the river is superb. A truly beautiful setting. We called into the Bridge to have a meal recently and sat in the large tent next to the river. The menu seemed quite good and all seemed good. Our meals arrived but there was no salt and pepper on the table. So we asked a waiter for some. He duly obliged but when my partner shook the salt pot, the lid came off and covered her meal, mainly on the chips but also on her vegan burger. So we called over another waiter (who was not wearing a mask) and explained it to him. He basically stood there and said nothing. Having no response my partner asked for another bowl of chips and removed the burger from the bun which was very salty. She also mentioned it at the bar but they too seemed uninterested. Despite eating as much of it as she could, her meal was completely ruined, as was our experience. Very impressed with the pub setting but not so impressed by the attitude of the staff to the problem or the fact that the waiter was not wearing a mask.

Karen and I held our Wedding Reception and the Bridge was exceptional. The hard work that has been put in by Lorna and Family has made our Special Day so nice. From the venue, food and top class hospitality truely amazing. I can not recommend the venue enough. Every guest keep reminding us what a brilliant choice. Thank u from our hearts.
