Absolutely stunning views over Stein am Rhine. Restaurant is top quality food and service and definitely the best in the area in my opinion. Roman the owner is extremely friendly and even gave us an impromptu tour of the castle after dinner which was great. Book early for a terrace table but, the inside is just as good if you don't get one. Highly recommended as a must place to go and eat and very romantic at night too.

You can see the castle perched on the hill above Stein am Rhein and it's an easy drive to the top where the restaurant is within the old fortifications. The route up passes through vineyards and there's a scenic view point with benches about half way up. The more adventurous can walk the steep stepped slope but it looked pretty arduous to me and you'll definitely be ready for a drink when you reach the summit! I would consider prices to be towards the high end but of course you're paying for the setting and a great one at that. There's plenty of parking just below the entrance with a 20meter or so walk up.

We hat a table outside on the balcony of the Castle overlooking the town and the river Rhein. The Food was excellent and Service very friendly; just a must!!!

Lovely place to be with family and friends! Excellent service and food. Very nice owners. It's always a special event to be there..

We enjoyed the hospitality, the professionality and the with passion prepared entercôte. The serving were even for us hungry guest enough. I should not write a positive comment @ Tripadvisor, because a reservation becomes even more a must ;-)
