This location is more of a "pit stop" for travelers, especially tourist buses, as it has public toilets. It does have a nice view, but can get very busy.

Whilst travelling along SH6 we made a brief stop off for 5-10 minutes. Nice, but not spectacular coastal views. We were warned in Christchurch of the sandflies on the West Coast. Definitely apply insect repellent before getting out of the car. Two days on the bites are still itchy.

A popular stop for the bus tours and the caravans, so you might not even find parking. Decent coastal views but hard to enjoy them.

We liked this for the change of scenery. After the mountain passes coming from Wanaka, it was great to get out and to see and smell the sea.
The views are beautiful, just not truly spectacular. A very good place to stop and stretch the legs all the same.
