Knights Point is a great stopping point on the drive from Fox to Haast. There's lots of parking & public toilets are available. The views here are excellent & there are some interesting info panels. There are lots of sandflies, which is normal for this area.

Love the west coast and the views from the Deep South are fantastic. Quite reminiscent of the coast of the great Australian bight.
Sand flies abound so make sure you have your repellant on

We had a short 30-minute stopover at this point and enjoyed one of the most stunning sunsets we've seen in New Zealand.
The view of the ocean and the rigid rocks and islets is breathtaking and combined with a perfect weather - it was a sunset to remember.

Last time we came we could go out on a lookout but due to erosion this is no longer possible which is a shame because the view up the Coast isn't quite the same because you have to look at it through plants which have grown tall. However, it's still a good place to stop to read about the history and you can still see a view.

Nice lookout and worth a stop.
Bathroom facilities and a bit of parking but this would quick fill in the busy times.
Bring your binoculars to check out the seals.
