I spent three nights at Landhotel Guglhupf in August 2018 and adored it. I was warmly greeted by Daniel, who remembered having talked to me over the phone a month prior, and throughout my stay the other hotel staff seemed to remember my name.
During my initial tour, I was shown the living room, which has fresh, homemade cake (delicious!) and coffee/tea available to all guests. My personal room was very spacious (two twin beds, a couch and desk, and a large bathroom) (albeit, without A/C, but that wasn't surprising for a small hotel in Europe!). And the location is great: Fussen is a short walk away, and I loved being able to walk to the castles from the hotel.
Beyond all of the above, I was amazed by the breakfast. I loved waking up to a variety of homemade breads and jams (I think there were 12 different varieties of homemade jam!), breakfast pastries, fresh fruits, yogurt, hot items (e.g., scrambled eggs), cheese and charcuterie, and a great selection of loose leaf teas.
While I mentioned the hospitality above, I want to take a moment to give a special thanks to Daniel. I had some issues with my booking through Hotels.com, and he was incredibly gracious about handling them (including spending his own time on the phone with Hotels.com and refunding me a night). Thank you, Daniel!
