When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to see our names chalked up on a welcome board outside the front door. A very nice touch.
The bedroom was comfortable and well appointed, with a magnificent view of the mountains. The restaurant was most attractive, and the food was excellent. But be warned, if you choose the "hausgemachter windbeutel" dessert you will certainly enjoy it, but might find yourself sliding under the table as a result of over indulgence. Maybe the other desserts are served in similarly gargantuan portions too, in which case tuck in and enjoy yourself.
An interesting feature was that the hotel closes on a Tuesday, so don't plan to arrive that day. They serve breakfast in the morning, and come up with suggestions for where one might like to eat in the evening. Guests are free to enter and leave the hotel using their room keys, but an unmanned hotel feels a little strange. It's not a problem, just an unusual quirk.More
