Having Europe's largest intact historical city center, Bamburg has been named a UNESCO World Heritage City; it is easy to see why - in fact, it is obvious. While, there are many attractions to see here, the city IS the main attraction: enchanting squares, Baroque facades, half-timbered buildings and quint narrow lanes create an historical ambience that allows one to take a stroll back in time. Watch out for murals and public artwork. You can spend all day just strolling these streets. And, of course, stop in a rustic pub for a glass of some delicious Franconian beer.
