“What a find! Perfect location, can't wait to go back”
Reviewed 11 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

It took us 10 hours to get here from Manchester - we stopped a couple of time, having 3 kids, but even so, the traffic was crazy and I have decided I now hate the M5!! However, despite being nearly 3 hours later to the property than expected, we received a warm welcome from Sue, the owner. A welcome basket had been left out for us with a fresh loaf from the local bakery, local eggs and butter. The house felt like home from the moment we arrived and is beautifully decorated throughout. We had a dog with us, who was allowed free range downstairs and we loved the stairgate on the bottom of the stairs which stopped the dog from going upstairs and let us know if the kids were going up and downstairs.
The house had everything we needed and the location was absolutely brilliant - there are a couple of nice places to eat in the village as well as an ok chippy, brilliant bakery/deli and award winning pasty shop. There is also a great Premier shop that stocks everything you can think of including a walk in chiller with a great selection of cider, beers, wine, prosecco, champagne etc.
In addition to the great shops in the village, the house is in close proximity to some amazing beaches....our favourite was Treyarnon closely followed by Harlyn Bay. Check out my other reviews on the beaches and places to eat.
We loved staying here so much, that despite the horrendous journey each way, I can see us making this our regular holiday destination!

“We breathed out when we arrived!”
Reviewed 16 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

My family, 5 sons, a friend and a Labrador arrived from rather smaller accommodation in Cornwall, shortly after lunchtime.
The house was spotless, a basket with eggs, butter and bread greeted us along with the house manager.
No sooner had she left then the frying pan was out. I doubt she even made it to the end of the road before the boys were tucking in.
Truly a lovely week. Traditional British weather posed no problem ,as we found loads to occupy us.
Hope to return before too long!

“Great holiday just a couple of niggles”
Reviewed 4 July 2015 for a stay in June 2015

Having stayed a the property last year we decided to return. The accommodation is 1st class location excellent for beaches and Padstow. Just a couple of points to note if have small children or want a quiet holiday. On the 2nd night we had to go round next door at 11pm and ask them to turn there music down as it was keeping our 2 year old awake as its semi detached. They seemed a bit annoyed we went round and turned it up before putting it down. The only other niggle is the traffic noise through the village is very noticeable which we found wasn't there the same time last year. Maybe st merryn is getting more commercialised now just seemed really busy everywhere in the village.Take note this has nothing to do with trevos its a great house to explore Cornwall.

I am glad you liked the property and acknowledge that St Merryn is a vibrate village during the season! However your observations about the traffic are unprecedented as the property is set back from the village roads in a private lane. As for the noisy neighbours. It certainly would not have been their intention to disturb you. They work punishing hours during the season and rarely have time to party! However I unreservedly apologise that it caused you inconvenience.

“fantastic location”
Reviewed 9 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We stayed here with friends - 8 of us in total including 4 kids and one dog. We found the house and garden to be comfortably big enough for all of us with the summerhouse an excellent additional space, although we didn't make much use of it as we as we had good weather for most of our stay. The accommodation is modern and has all the usual luxuries you may need to keep yourselves entertained on the inevitable rainy day ! The only gripe we had would be how early the kids and dog awoke-this could have perhaps been helped by the addition of blackout blinds.
The main point for us however was the fantastic location - 2 mins drive to at least 7 fabulously unspoiled beaches, and only a 5 minute drive into Padstow for provisions. St.Merryn itself is a compact little village but has a fab Deli and a couple of really nice pubs and eateries,we really liked Waves pizzeria. We would happily return in the future.
