Very cozy place. Nice location and view. Combination of dishes and vine menu is just excellent! Things look simple but taste is great. You should certainly try polenta.

If you are looking for a cute, cozy restaurant in the Italian pre-alps, with good food, attentive service at a very good price, this is the right place.

I went with my parents on a Sunday evening, we called ahead to make sure it was open and reserve a table.

After a very quick scenic drive we arrived at the restaurant, owned and run by Simona and her family.

The ambience is nice and the decor suiting a mountain place.

We ordered one portions of each of the available cold cuts starters (salumi della provincia, salumi di selvaggina and lardo) in order to sample all the available cuts.
The highlight was the salame di cervo!! Very good!!

The portions were abundant and we were all able to sample each of the different cuts.
The starters came accompanied by vegetables side dishes and polenta.

At this point we were already full, but we ordered wild board with polenta and pizzoccheri.

Everything was delicious, the wild boar tender, the polenta tasty and the pizzoccheri extremely well done.

To accompany it all we had a bottle of red wine "morellino di scansano" that fit perfectly with the meal.

It was then time for the bill, that turned out to be surprisingly low.

All in all it was a very nice experience that we will for sure repeat.

During a bike tour last weekend, I discovered this little Trattoria. The food was excellent, I ate some pasta and vitello meat. The service is nice, managed by the owner wife probably. Very much recommended.

On the back of other reviews, we drove up the huge mountain and steep roads to reach this diamond of a place.

Three of us walked in without prior notice and ordered tea and coffees. Unknown to us this comes with two slices each of fantastic home made cake. This proved to be the best apple cake I have ever eaten.

Family run with great views across the valley and a very warm welcome and atmosphere.

Highly recommended for a trip off the beaten track.

We were looking for a restaurant near lake Lugano and this one came out because of the very good comments... Once when arriving Brusimpiano town is necessary to take the detour to Ardena area.... driving uphill through narrow curves located right side of the road a wooden cottage type... the driveway is very narrowed so is necessary to pay extra attention when driving in and parking.

Is a small place (around 50 seats) comfortable, clean, cozy, not mass touristy type which is exactly the type of place we were looking for...

Their proposals are mainly Alpine; polenta, game, salami, fresh pasta, no pizza... Their child menu proposal is excellent and very good valued: cold cuts of salami, plate of tomato pasta, roasted veal with fries and one scoop of ice cream at 10.00 euro... We had pasta with chanterelles (freshly made!) and roast beef of great quality...

Overall we were very happy with the place and their food quality as homemade; is family run place so is not formal or pretentious; the service was welcoming, warm and kiddie friendly... for sure, we will be returning!
