The apartment has comfortable, spacious communal space with a well equipped kitchen designed for cooking not for show. We cooked four out of the six nights we were there and found everything we needed to do so. The décor is modern and uncluttered. The two good showers with separate loos meant there was no queue for the bathroom which is important when sharing. The beds are comfortable and the there is plenty of storage space.
The location gives access to a range of ski areas suiting all abilities and we didn't visit them all.
Superb modern apartment, lots of room, exceptionally clean and great facilities, kitchen equipment, wifi, Apple TV etc etc. Louise was very helpful with my need to rebook dates all the way through to arrival and departure. Highly recommended,
Well appointed apartment close to facilities and ski areas. Will definitely be staying again!
My husband, two teenage sons and I stayed at the apartment for a week over Christmas. As there was limited skiing due to the poor snow conditions we would occasionally come back to the apartment early, however, the apartment is so large it felt very comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and with full size cooking facilities. The dining table can comfortably sit six people and the settees are very generous . The two showers and two toilets make a huge difference when you are all trying to get ready in the morning. The beds are extremely comfortable.
The apartment is just outside of town, to walk in took less than 10 minutes along the main road and is about a 20 minute drive to Pré la Joux, the furthest of the local lift stations. The nearest lift station is just a couple of minutes away.
We would recommend the hire of a car, whilst there is a bus stop outside the apartment, the car provides greater flexibility.
The nearest supermarket, Intermache Super, is conveniently on the way back from the main skiing areas so we would pop in there to stock up on supplies. There is also a petrol station attached to the supermarket.
The owner is extremely helpful and was very keen to ensure everything was as we expected and we felt like we were at “home”. We would be more than happy to stay there again and recommend the apartment to anyone looking to stay in the area.
We stayed in this apartment for a month and had friends to visit. We really enjoyed staying there and it was perfect for 2,4 or 6 people. It is situated just outside La Chapelle on the main road with the bus stop right outside. The road is busy during the day but very quiet at night. It is possible to walk over the field at the rear of the property down to the river and then follow the path right along the river to the town or down the valley. If there is enough snow it is possible to ski/skate back from Cret Beni. Although the buses are regular, it is much more convenient to have a car and there is covered parking for one car underneath the balcony. At the moment there is plenty of parking for another car too.
The apartment is very well appointed - the kitchen has all the facilities and cutlery/crockery/pans you might need. The coffee machine is wonderful - so good that we ordered the same model to be delivered when we got home! The sitting area has plenty of seating for 6 adults (a frequent bugbear of mine is that in many chalets/apartments this is not the case), new TV and fast WIFI. The owner is very helpful via email if you struggle with the technology!
The underfloor heating means that it is always at a comfortable temperature and there is plenty of hot water for 6 adults to shower at the end of the day in the 2 new and efficient showers. There are also 3 electric radiators with thermostats which are perfect for drying wet gloves etc and boot dryers too.The bedrooms, although small, have plenty of storage space and very comfortable beds.
The reception area is open and spacious and gives access to the ski cupboard/cave. This is very big and we used it to store suitcases/wine/snow shovel as well as skis.
The other apartments are currently occupied by a mixture of locals and holiday-makers, who are all very friendly. La Chapelle is a lovely little village and the two skiing areas of Pantiaz and Cret Beni should not be ignored in favour of Chatel/Avoriaz. They are perfect (as is Abondance) for a half day skiing for competent skiers if the weather is a bit iffy and even better for beginners. We frequently drove to either Vonne (at the top of Chatel) or Morgin (past Vonne over to Switzerland) to access quiet slopes.
The owner is very helpful and friendly and cannot do enough to ensure you have a good stay.
