The good: quaint white washed rooms reasonably appointed with sea just across the street. The waves lull you to sleep if you leave the little balcony door open. Bathroom is modern and spacious enough. But the staff...oy. They could not have seemed more indifferent to the existence of guests. Always doing mountains of mysterious paperwork (reams and reams of it) at the reception desk, they didn't exactly exude approachability. Upon checkin, they were utterly unable to explain the difference between "private" parking and the public parking next to the hotel. It has to be the most common question upon checkin so their blank stares following one sentence inadequate explanations was off putting. The restaurant staff is no better and all staff seemed content to let what seemed like their own children sprint around the hotel deck screaming when it suited them. The "private beach" is a concession just across the road at he beach with chaise sort of things and umbrellas and a bar. The staff there is primarily focused on young ladies who arrive unaccompanied by an equal number of men. The price of this private beach is also a little eye popping so ask ahead of time. It isn't free as a guest of the hotel.

All in all, the hotel is ok if a little rusted upon closer inspection. But it would have been so much better if the staff were more guest-focused and professional. Similarly, the extra charges were a bit high given how much the hotel room itself cost.

A mixed bag.

This hotel is chic, modern and comfortable. We checked in the la calaque room on 27/5 and the view was amazing! We got a flat tyre when we arrived, the reception has been very helpful to explain our situations to Europcar. Big thanks to you Laurence : ) and your colleague (which I forgot her name). I wish I had stay longer and this is the place which I want to come back.

We stayed here 1 night in May 2016, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Clean rooms, amazing views, very friendly staff, a good breakfast and we enjoyed dinner so much we came back 3 days later on our return trip through Cassis. Unfortunately there were no available rooms for us at that time but we did have a very good meal. I will definitely stay here again if I am in Cassis.

Room Tip: Go for the rooms with the sea view - worth it!

We stayed here for 2 nights in May. The hotel is very modern inside, with a stylish bar and restaurant that have fine views of the sea. The location of this hotel is spectacular, across the road from an attractive beach, and only a short walk into Cassis. Our room on the third floor was tiny and claustrophobic, with only just enough room to squeeze around the three sides of the bed. The all-white modern decor was fresh and clean, however the room had a cold atmosphere and felt clinical. Our room had a small balcony with a stunning sea view - definitely worth paying extra for. Unfortunately the oversized balcony furniture took up all the limited floor space and only added to the cramped feel to the room. The broken divide between our balcony and the next creaked and flapped in the wind - when we mentioned it the receptionist just smiled and said they already knew it was broken. The good points about the room include the attractive pebble bedside lights and the decent bathroom with modern fittings. The room was also clean and quiet. However, there were several things that I just found annoying such as only offering one tea bag in the room; cheap loo roll; a cheap plastic plant pot; a wobbly bathroom towel ladder that kept falling across the bathroom door, and synthetic lumpy pillows. The wifi in the room was also completely useless. This is a pricey hotel and I didn't feel it offered value for money and wasn't to my taste, but hubby liked it so maybe it is just a matter of opinion?
Travel tip: If you're going from Cassis to Aix-en-Provence, get the 68 bus from the 'Gendarmerie' bus stop in Cassis and change in Aubagne bus station - the no. 72 goes direct to the centre of Aix. Much easier and cheaper than the route the tourist office advise (they suggest a bus to Cassis train station, a train to Marseille, a train to Aix, then a bus from the station to the town centre).

Room Tip: Definitely worth paying extra for a sea view.

As many have mentioned, the hotel has amazing sea views. The hotel itself and the room we stayed in was a bit run down, the restaurant was pricey with average food, and the private beach was more of a restaurant area overlooking the beach with a few chaises for rent (also very expensive at 16 Euros per person). They pack you in and the area is not non-smoking, so that can be tiresome for nonsmokers. It was ok but my expenctations were high due to the website and the reviews, and they were not met.
