We had a lovely lunch at this restaurant recently. I ordered the ongelet, which was very good, but the chips that came with it were some of the best I have ever eaten! We were also very pleasantly surprised to be given a free starter of homemade gazpacho. The restaurant is situated on Place Dalton. It is busy, but get there early and have a seat in the shade.

We were so glad we opted for this restaurant over the others alongside. Their menu of the day for €16 had the dish of the day (They had one for each day of the week) dessert drink and coffee. One son chose mussels prepared with local cheese Maroille sauce. Cheese with moules? But Yes! And boy did they taste delicious. Th e portion was so large we had to help him out and he is a big eater. Meanwile back to the fixed menu. Our dish was grilled salmon in a raspberry sauce! Highly unusual ? But it was so good. Large selection of vegetables which were rather a mess on the plate but tasted good. I chose a red berry 'soupe' for dessert which was served slightly warm, mostly strawberries, never eaten them like that before. Unusual and be quite happy to have again. Good portion for a fixed menu dessert. The others had chocolate mousse Chantilly which was very rich. Great coffee afterwards.
And the bill for all this including drinks? Just over 70€. There is no way one could eat like that in England for 4.. We were tempted to go back for lunch the next day as the dish of the day was Magret de canard. Highly recommended although one did need to catch the waiter's eye from time to time as waits between courses were a little long

I first ate here in the seventies. I have never been disappointed. Service and food are always of the highest order. I have lunched here twice in the last week. My second visit was with young (4 and 2 year old) grandchildren. Our waiter brought their "menu enfant" pizzas and saucisses frites as soon as they were ready without being asked saying he thought they would be happy to be served quickly! A special touch. Over the years I have eaten myriad meat and fish courses here and the value for money, freshness and authenticity have always been excellent.

We were a party of 4 and was driving looking for somewhere for lunch and saw this place on a very busy but very nice square in front of a church it was next to other restaurants but was the busiest so we dined there we were seated straight away and it wasn't to long before our order was taken we have the Plat d jour which was an excellent choice the food was plentiful and delicious more that we could eat the dessert was as delicious we would certainly dine there again.

We stopped here for a late lunch en route to Calais..I didn’t expect much as the restaurant is situated in a very touristy square next to a church popular with visitors.
The square has several restaurants all next to each other, so we went for the busiest...even though that meant sitting inside as all the shaded tables outside were taken.
The staff did not speak very much English, but we managed to get by with our very bad French and google translator.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the plat d’jour, Crab, mussels, farmer’s chicken and the brochettes giant (large meat kebab). We had a fairly long wait for the food to arrive, but when it did the portions were very generous and the food excellent. The kebab was simply enormous and was served with a full plate of fries- enough food for at least 2 people. All the dishes were well cooked and had clearly been made with care.
The 3 course set menu proved very good value and we were all very full when we left. Well worth visiting when in Boulogne old town.
