We stopped here for a late lunch en route to Calais..I didn’t expect much as the restaurant is situated in a very touristy square next to a church popular with visitors.
The square has several restaurants all next to each other, so we went for the busiest...even though that meant sitting inside as all the shaded tables outside were taken.
The staff did not speak very much English, but we managed to get by with our very bad French and google translator.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including the plat d’jour, Crab, mussels, farmer’s chicken and the brochettes giant (large meat kebab). We had a fairly long wait for the food to arrive, but when it did the portions were very generous and the food excellent. The kebab was simply enormous and was served with a full plate of fries- enough food for at least 2 people. All the dishes were well cooked and had clearly been made with care.
The 3 course set menu proved very good value and we were all very full when we left. Well worth visiting when in Boulogne old town.
