Firstly, the hotel reception staff were excellent.
We booked 2 rooms, one for 2 people and one for 1 person, however, the price charged is per room and no reduction for single occupancy. Not a good policy in my opinion and I would normally aim to avoid hotels with this criteria. The rooms were claustrophobic, windows locked, no air without using the aircon which we did not want to use as we were not confident about the hygeine issue relating to COVID19. The bathrooms did not have separate shower, a bath with shower attachment to the wall meaning that to have a shower you had to climb over the bath......not a good option when you are in your 70's waiting for replacement knee surgery. A room with just shower would have been a better option but this was not offered and due to issues sorting an evening meal just did not have the energy to ask to change had one been available. Finally, the sealant around the bath had a serious amount of black mould it looked revolting and could not be classed as hygenic! I would like to think that there had been a deep clean, but for reasons above it did not "feel or smell" clean. It did not matter how much cleaning/cleansing had taken place, the shabby bathroom did not offer any confidence. We sprayed everything in the room with our own cleaner such was our insecurity.
