A nice area with on paper best to expect… but Not at a 4* hotel standard. It seems as the facility is trying to do some cost saving

    - room temperature is blocked at 19 deg. You have to call the reception for any change (down or up)
    - no hot water on the 1st morning . Had to call the reception and wait for 45 min … 😅
Same problem in other rooms apparently
    - no coffee in the room … this is usually a standard offer for a 4 *

So nice facility, clean, friendly team
But too much focus on cost saving.

Overpriced hotel : room fridge in all rooms did not function, shower floor was not tidy, rooms on «  pinede » side were more directly on parking lot side, restaurant was closed for lunch and dinner for lack of staff. Pool site was pleasant. Overrated.

Great location, very peaceful, lovely walks in the forest to the beaches. Hotel Spa was excellent. The restaurant menu was limited, but good value. However, there is a wide choice of restaurants along the beach, where you can watch the sunsets. Perfect location if you are a golfer.

We stayed here July 2019. If you are coming from Bordeaux as we did, there is a bus that takes you from Gare St Jean (the big train station) to Lacanau for 2 euros per person - it takes around 2 hours and was a comfortable ride. The hotel staff collected us from the bus stop at the bottom of the road (too far to walk with luggage).Mid July, there is a bus service from the main road which runs right up to the hotel. We stayed in a pool side room which was average size with a small balcony. There is a riding centre nearby. You can walk to the main town (45mins+)
but I wouldn't suggest it if you have lots to carry back with you.

    We liked.
Enough sunbeds - might be a different matter in school holidays
    Quiet location
Reasonably price bike rental with helmets / some had a basket
Easy bike ride to the main town which has a lovely beach and plenty of bars, restaurants, seaside shops (note there is no shop immediately near the hotel)
    Reasonably priced onsite restaurant
Good shower / towels / toiletries
    In room coffee/ tea/ biscuits
    Fridge in room
    Good free in-room wifi connection
Nice spa (we didn't try treatments)
Golf course / mini golf a short distance away- reasonable cost
    Friendly helpful staff

    We didn't like
Could do with a hotel shuttle to the main bus stop - long walk in very hot conditions
    Need shelves in shower!!
On site mini golf wasn't usuable

Thank you for your very complete review on your stay at the hotel. We are actually 3km from the ocean in the heart of the pine forest. There is a bus service, a few meters from the hotel. We don’t have a shuttle service yet, but when we can we arrange a pick up or take our guests downtown to catch the bus.
There are many activities at the hotel or close to it, which allows you to ride your bike or walk.
We look forward to welcome you soon.

My husband had booked our 38th anniversary here. The welcome was warm and friendly. The food and service top notch. The bora bora massage was relaxing, especially the body scrub part. Our room was clean and comfortable, although too hot during the night - it was really difficult to sleep. We tried turning it down, even off, to no effect. In the morning we were told, 'we should have contacted reception which is manned 24/7. The central heating is controlled from there'. Apart from that it would have received top marks! Even our small dog was welcomed at 12 euros a night.
