“lovely house, plenty of space, very peaceful area”
Reviewed 7 August 2015 for a stay in July 2015

My brothers family and mine had a wonderful time at Oak Bank, lots of great walks, brilliant base to get around the lakes - once you get used to the hills! Our kids really got into walking which makes a change from the constant screens! Tesco and Asda both delivered to us too so we didn't need to worry about shopping. the children particularly enjoyed the stream as you come into Ulpha and the crossing cows! Ravenglass trains were a big favorite too.

“Secluded and peaceful...but they still managed to party!”
Reviewed 23 July 2015 for a stay in May 2015

What a great way to catch up with your extended family and get away from it all!.
The cottage itself is beautifully and characteristically decorated, showing the wear and tear of time in places.
The showers have to be prepped before you take one, but we were lucky enough to have the ensuite, really spacious and very clean.
The kitchen is large, modern and well equipped (although it took a while to work out the cooker/agar)
Small garden to the front and rear with the sound of a close by stream, so peaceful.
Your straight out into walking territory. The tiny village has a pub which serves food and a tiny closet of a post office for essentials. I'd suggest you do your shop before you arrive in Ulpha.
Altogether a lovely long weekend...for some, a little too much wine and song!
