You expect a Trattoria to be down to earth, homely, good food but not refined. However, La Goccia is something else. Feels much more like a restaurant than a Trattoria. Excellent, friendly and welcoming service from a charismatic owner. All of the fish is fresh and my starter (tris of fish tartare) was exquisite, really delicate and well balanced flavours. For our main course we shared the fritto misto, it was one of the best I have ever had. For dessert we had a homemade ice cream in a homemade galette with flambeaud mixed fruits, which was done right in front of our eyes!! Just brilliant, well done guys.

Full on Wednesday night, we ate very superb fish dishes...Mix of entrée to share and than a main course, who had a pumpkin delicious soup, who grilled fish, i had grilled monkfish and really enjoyed it!
Last, but not the least, a choreographic dessert with ice cream and red fruits in a biscuit basket express prepared at our table by the owner! Spectacular!! Great job
45€ each is a honest price for a superb dinner

We spent 10 days traveling around Italy sampling everything from small local diners to Michelin star restaurants, and as far as food goes, this was most likely the best experience we had. We got put onto this restaurant by the owner of our B&B who sent us there with a warning: only order fish. As fish enthusiasts we happily complied. I ordered the monkfish, my partner took a deep breath and eventually ordered the octopus, knowing how easily both of these dishes are overcooked. Well, they weren't overcooked, not by far. This was one of the best prepared meals I've had in my life and the protein in both cases was cooked to perfection. Personally I don't even like octopus, but I couldn't help but deny what my partner had was something very delicate and special. The monkfish - out of this world. This restaurant appears to be in the middle of nowhere, the mains were both in the 20 euro range and the wines more or less like they are in the Garda area, and you'd be fools not to go there.

La gocchia trattoria came highly recommended from local folks, we decided to visit. Set in the edge of a village next to a huge vineyard it offers indoor and outdoor seating. We sat outdoors and enjoyed a lovely breeze and some rose wine. The huge menu managed to confuse us a bit, it offers a selection of fresh fish and shellfish, raw and cooked, various meat cuts, pastas and other italian delicacies. The restaurant also offers a antipasti buffet that was amazing, one of the highlights of the meal.

Primi piati we took two pastas, a mix fish antipasti - various preprations of fish / shrimp / squid - that was amazing. And a polenta and mushroom dish that was a less flavorful than the other dishes.

For mains we took a steak in mushroom, mix grill seafood platter, the strawberry risotto, and a grilled bass. The strawberry risotto was divine. Perfect risotto rich and cheesey and the strawberrys acidity freshened the whole thing up - a stunning dish. The steak was of top quality beef timed to perfection - literally melted, the seafood mix on the grill received a warm welcome. And so did the bass that was skillfully filleted by the waiteress tableside everything cooked to perfection.

One of the biggest surprises was the antipasti buffet. Everything on it was delicious even the veggies i dont normally like as much were done so well i could eat a bucket.

Deserts we ordered two lemon sorbets and a tableside flambed berries on top of a fried biscuit and ice cream. This was a real showstopper done by the restaurant owner who is very sweet and funny man.

Service was great throughout.
A real 3 course meal including wine / beer / water and desert turned out to be one of the more expensive meals we had on this trip - but well worth the price. Well done.
