Villa Montaperti is situated in the lovely Tuscan hillside outside the walled town of Volterra
It is a spacious, lovely villa with all the mod cons plus pool, outdoor seating, separate living room (building next door). We ( a group of 21) seasoned travelers spent two weeks there and loved that the villa was within easy travel distance to places far and near: Firenze, Venezia, San Gimignano, etc.
That being said, there were a few drawbacks, nothing critical in my opinion. The problems included a kitchen stove that didn't heat properly, faulty lighting, and an antiquated washing machine that literally took 2-3 HOURS to complete a cycle. No dryer, but drying racks and clotheslines provided.
Nonetheless, I would recommend this rental--a bit pricey @ $10,000 per week, but split among the group, only $900 for two weeks, which is not unreasonable for what we got.
Group travel can be challenging, yet we found the owners mostly responsive, even if it didn't seem their remedies actually improved much. There were extensive problems with cell phones and computer connections--but only for certain devices; others adapted easily and well.
