This is a top class restaurant. Everything about it is excellent: the food, the wine, the service and the ambiance. We opted for the 8 course taster menu and wine flight, but somehow they sneaked in 2 extra courses ( including the chef’s special fish stew with 10 types of perfect al dente pasta) and 3 extra puddings. From the moment we arrived we were cared for with 5 amuse bouche accompanied by Dom Perignon to when they quietly told us our taxi was waiting was perfect. This is the place for a special night out - you won’t regret it.

We arrived early and chose to sit in the glass enclosed terrace with a view across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Perfect!

The next thing that impressed us was the Maitre D' and the staff. We were made to feel as welcome as if we were family, and the Maitre D' was so enthusiastic and knowledgeable about every dish served. Instead of the more typical memorized recital of each dish, it felt as if he was the chef and had personally pick every tomato.

We chose the 8 course tasting menu, but they actually served us 22 different items, each flawless. The menu is heavily accented towards seafood - small morsels of choice fish, calamari, scallops or crab but always in combination with 2 or 3 other ingredients that surprised and complemented the dish, such as local cheese in grilled zucchini or caviar perched on the seafood.

There were also some novel textures, such as a light crab dish with a strong crab bisque accompaniment, or a red fish with a pudding that intensified the experience. The tomato risotto with hints of lemon was particularly memorable as was the broth with 10 kinds of pasta of different textures. There was only one meat dish - two kinds of crispy pork, which did not disappoint.
When it came to desserts, we were already completely full, but even there interesting combinations (such as a sliver of parmesan over a small pudding) tempted us.
The wine list is extensive, but we sought the sommeliers advice for only two glasses of white - which were both local and excellent.
The bill was remarkable reasonable for the quality of the menu, the setting and the service - we would expect to pay twice as much for a similar restaurant in New York.
Congratulations to the chef and staff.
PS our photos the various dishes are not as good as what you will find on Instagram.

The restaurant is Michelin starred and so you need to know that your wallet will be significantly lighter by the time you leave. We bit the bullet and ordered the eight course tasting menu with accompanying wine options. In other words, we handed over control to the chef. For this, we were given a tour of the wine cellar and kitchen before being led to our seats for a long dinner. And the courses came like a procession with an amazing selection of wine - so good, we kept noting the labels. I could barely stand up by the end of the meal. The speciality is fish and seafood so if you're allergic, as one diner near us was, your evening may not be so enjoyable. The bill was just shy of 500 Euros - so like I said, this is your holiday blow out meal - possibly not to be repeated every evening.

What an amazing dinner and service we experienced at Torre del Saracino! Seriously, it is the best restaurant I have ever been. The service is perfect and very attentive. Food is from another world, with combinations I would have never thought of but always with the local touch from the sea. Location is beautiful specially if you go for the sunset... I would recommend it to anybody who is passionate about food and wine!
