So I chose this restaurant because it was close to,our hotel and supposedly the best for fish and seafood in Verbania.
The restaurant is very attractive, with 2 nice young waiters.
We chose some pasta with seafood and I chose the guinea fowl, stuffed with Piemontese sausage. The pasta was good. My guinea fowl was good after I added salt and pepper. It was cooked just slightly pink, served with chanterelles mushrooms, red cabbage and an apple sauce......until the last bit which garnished the plate and contained the bone. I cut it open and the stink was awful. I called
the waiter and asked him to get the cook to take a whiff. 10 minutes later he came back saying it was a normal smell because of the spices in the sausage (which had given no smell to the other pieces). I told him that if that smell was normal, I was Senegalese ( which being a white, female Brit appeared highly unlikely). The smell turned my stomach, and I didn't have dessert.
It took nearly an hour to get our food, despite being the first of 10 customers.
Not impressed, wouldn't go back. Prices reasonable.
