Nello, his food, and his wonderful and generous hospitality made our day, so much that we dined at Masaniello 3 days our of 5! His meats and cheeses are like nothing you will get anywhere else (the smoked Mozzarella is to die for, and the gnocchi is spectacular). Be prepared to spend some time, and don't be in a rush as this hidden gem is an experience worthy of time. Highly recommend!

You know its going to be a good meal when your hotel staff stays they go there. :) This meal is nothing fancy. If you dont like eating in deli's or bars at home you will be annoyed. HOWEVER, if you understand the meaning of local/ hidden gem, this place is for you. It is amazing.

Wow! What an unbelievable experience. Our family of six (parents plus two young adults and two teens) enjoyed a fabulous dinner. The place is tiny with only a few tables. We called ahead and the owner graciously agreed to hold a table for six. There is no menu. Rather, you speak with the owner and the chef will prepare fantastic dishes based on your preferences and the available ingredients. Nello, the owner, considers his place a labor of love — and it shows. We started with a beautiful antipasti platter prepared by Nello along with delicious tomatoes and fresh made mozzarella. We were then served an amazing cut of beef on a sizzling platter, slow-cooked pork, and the most tasty fried potatoes. After all that, Nello came to the table, explained that for 25 years he worked as a cheese maker, and proceeded to make some delicious mozzarella braids for us to try. Then, just as we were ready to tap out, there appeared a desert sampling platter that knocked our socks off. Last, Nello shows up with a bottle of limoncello, places it on the table with shot glasses and asked us to enjoy! By the way, we had the local version of red sangria with dinner and it was crisp, refreshing, and not overpoweringly sweet. My advice — visit this place before one of the food networks or travel channels finds it. And, by the way, the Tab was super reasonable. Our best foodie experience in Italy. Nello is the best!

Late lunch on our way to Sorrento. Drove by place and mortadella caught our eyes. Glad we stopped. We had a delicious lunch of Parma ham, mortadella, mozzarella, sun dried and fresh tomatoes with crusty bread. Met the friendly owners and their cute little kid. Great place!

Our tour guide took us here to eat lunch after touring Pompeii. It't a truly authentic Italian grocery and restuarant. Noelo and his wife are owners. She does the cooking, and he does the purveying and the meeting and greeting he bought us endless and delicious food. The tomatoe salad was amazing, the bread was great, all the different types of mozzorella were very good. The burrata came with great grill artichokes, and the cows milk mozzarella, which Noelo pull at are table was delicious. And the bill was very reasonable. If you like good food and nice people this is the place
