We stopped in Reggio Emilia on our drive from Cinque Terre to Venezia. We had 3 rooms, of which one was a triple, allowing our adult daughter to have her own separate area. The hotel is lovely and the rooms are so elegant. Breakfast is served in a nicely lit tea room.

Our only difficulty was in trying to navigate our 9 passenger van into the historic city center. We were not prepared with good directions & GPS failed us. Fortunately the manager was able to guide us and his assistant parked the vehicle in the narrow lot.

Would stay again but get good directions in advance.

I first stayed in Posta in the 1980's when I was working in Italy and I vowed to return with my wife. We were delighted. We took a small suite: the beds were comfortable, the wifi was excellent, the rooms were large and spacious with an immaculate bathroom. Our room was quiet. The hotel front desk staff is superb. They gave excellent recommendations for dining ideas. The hotel is centrally located which meant we could walk to any major site. There is limited parking at the hotel. Breakfast was very good and their coffee was superb. This is a quality establishment. Whitebeard83

Firstly if your staying or need to stay in Reggio Emilia then this hotel is a reasonable choice. It should be noted it’s right in the centre and if you have a hire car make sure it’s not too big and you have a sat nav or navigator, finding it is quite difficult by car, leaving it and the route out was very easy. They offer parking for €12 euros a day and to be honest if you have a car your pretty much stuck with this. The reception area is pretty simple but when you go upstairs to the room they are quite acceptable. We had a junior suite separate bedroom separate living room and ensuite. This worked ok for us. The suite had a balcony out onto the main square which was quite noisy on a Saturday night. Everything was in easy walking distance from the hotel. Breakfast was in a small area and buffet it was pretty basic and could get quite busy dependant upon the time you went, it served a purpose rather than excelled. The suites bedding was a bit dry and not that comfortable the bathroom door also got stuck when opening it (rubbed on the floor slightly) the room glasses and cups were not refreshed on the second day by housekeeping after use. The tv channels are limited signal a bit hit and miss and almost exclusively Italian. Overall a functional hotel but think why you need to stay here and only stay if it has a specific purpose to be in the town or area. The nearby cafes and bars are very reasonably priced.

The position is in the very heart of town, perfect for everything. The building is rich in history and very charmingly restored in the common parts. Yet, the rooms (though very clean) suffer of a 70's-80's renovation style: ordinary square tiles on the floor, plain tapestry (and some pieces missing here and there), rather basic bathroom. So, rooms are more of a 3 star-hotel, and should need some renovating, while the general atmoshpere, the furniture and the style of the common parts deserve the 4 stars. We also found some differences in the attitude of the Staff: some were very professional (the man at the Reception, the cleaning ladies, the staff at breakfast time), while others would need more training on the customers' care. Excellent and varied breakfast served in a marvellous room.

Spent our nights in this charming small hotel in the center of this beautiful city

Can not say enough about the exceptional staff. Umberto, the manager/owner is the second or third generation of his family who has carefully preserved and ru. This beautiful old hotel.

He has trained his staff exceptional well; the rooms were beautiful and comfortable, the reception area has a very nice gathering area and a small bar and the morning breakfast was a feast of fresh options.

While there, one of a party had an accident requiring medical attention and an unexpected stay in the hospital. The staff rose to the challenge, and although Umberto was out of town, he and the staff were in constant contact with me (the unofficial tour leader). The injured guest stayed in Reggio for six days for additional medical treatment after the rest of the group left and the staff was so very accommodating and extremely helpful helping them maneuver through the Italian medical system and making new arrangement for their return trip to the USA.

This is definitely a city worth visiting and this is definitely the hotel you want to choose.
