Hotel Paazzo Murat is most likely the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. From the charm of the room to the wonderful trees, plants and flowers in the gardens it couldn’t have been more beautiful. The location of this hotel is also perfect as it isn’t right on the beach, but yet it isn’t too far either. Being in this location is perfect because you don’t hear5 all of the noise from the beach, but yet it is just a few steps away if you want to be on the beach. Positano is a wonderful town, but it isn’t built for those who have mobility issues as there are many hills and steps. The staff at the Palazzo Murat is also great the front desk was great at arraigning any tours you would like to take. They can also arrange transportation to the airport or train station in Naples if you wish. The hotel offers a complementary boat tour down to Almafi that I highly recommend. I had taken a similar tour around Capri while staying there and the cost of that tour was 140 euros, so a complementary one was very welcomed. The hotel provides bath robes, slippers and flip flops to all guest, which we truly enjoyed having this luxury. The maid service was exceptional they actually clean your room twice a day and provide clean towels on each visit. The food at this hotel is again exceptional as the restaurant is Michelin Starred. The breakfast buffet is very well done and offers a wide variety of hot and cold offerings we really enjoyed a very well done breakfast buffet. Don’t let the price of this hotel scare you it isn’t cheap but is most definitely wort every penny.

Excellent service. Very cosy hotel, close to everything in Positano. Excellent and extremely polite staff. Quiet pool and quiet overall environment. Wonderfull gardens. The breakfast is served in the garden, with all sorts of fresh products.

We stopped here for lunch last week- food and service was lovely and all in a stunning setting. We had beautifully cooked fish and the deserts were great. To finish off they got us a small plate of little biscuits- it's the little things that make the difference! Free wifi too. The hotel looks amazing- would love to stop there next time

The place isn't inexpensive, but well worth it for what it has to offer. It's a well situated handsome hotel with rather sprawling grounds considering the paucity of flat terrain to be found, with a lovely lemon garden and a small pool that overlooks the Cathedral. It has of course spectacular views of the Mediterranean blue and the city above

They also have parking (valet) which is outstanding as this is clearly a walking town. And you can really feel the pull of history from the time of Mutat himself, who used the estate as his summer palace back in the early 19th Century. The restaurant is spectacular, albeit pricey, but even better is the breakfast they offer each morning to the numerous guests which is situated outside on the veranda with the aforementioned wonderful views. The selection of fresh fruits pastries cheese, etc. was fantastic as was the espresso. Consensus among our party was that this was the best breakfast of any of the hotels in our past few trips to Europe

It was impressive to see the mobs of tourists as they surged and meandered into the entryway, where they would pause and take pictures of the Majestic Hotel. Indeed their inevitable presence and the steady bustle from the alley outside (so crowded it seemed at times as if a never ending frat party) was a constant reminder of what a good decision we made to stay at this hotel which really gave the illusion of serenity and privacy despite being situated in such a crowded tourist destination.

We stayed over Easter and the staff was fantastic! they were quite helpful and understanding with our two small children each below the age of three and even gave Easter candies, etc.

Would highly recommend this place!

I am a photographer, this hotel is amazing and picturesque as anything on the entire Amalfi coast. The bougainvillea are hundreds of years old and vibrant beyond words or images can capture. The rooms are fabulous, ours had a little veranda with chairs and looked out over the famous dome church. You could also see the other side of the hill covered in soft colored houses. The breakfast was five star, especially for Italian standards. We ate lunch here a few days as well. The outdoor patio dining is beautifully full of lemon trees and top notch. They use fresh vegetables grown in the garden on the premises. The hotel staff helped us book our dinner reservations and made great suggestions. Included with our room rate was a 2 hour private-ish nice boat tour down to Amalfi and back one morning. That was fabulous as well. If you are lucky enough to get a reservation here, you will not be disappointed... The pool is nice, sometimes all the chairs were reserved with towels, which was a bummer... SO if the pool is your thing, go early. But don't reserve a chair if you are not sitting in it!!!

Room Tip: A view is important here. You want to see the outdoors. A patio is nice for evening and morning sits.
