We stayed with a group of skiers at the end of January/beginning of February. The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and the food was excellent with an extensive buffet each breakfast and dinner and a choice of courses at the table for dinner. Our room was a good size and very comfortable. It appeared that the hotel was family run with a tradition of repeat customers.
Pointe Di Legno was a community with character in contrast to Passo Tonale which appeared more like a modern ski area. However Passo seemed to have the better skiing and short distances to the slopes. We would not have enjoyed the long walk in ski gear from Mirella to the lifts but having the hotel minibus available to take and collect guests made Mirella far preferable than Passo for us. We skied most days in Passo but it was worth the comfortable gondola ride to Passo each morning in order to stay at Mirella. At the end of the day we tended to ski back to Ponte using a convenient chair lift, though it was possible to download on the gondola from Passo. The gondola dropped us in Passo a small distance up the mountain and not at the base. This may not suit absolute beginners who would need to ski the short wide green/blue run down to the base.
We would certainly be very happy to return to the Mirella.More
