My wife and I have just spent a delightful week in the Mayenne, Pays de la Loire. My wife is disabled with very limited mobility so finding accommodation that is suitable, but not exclusively for the disabled is a rarity. This small cottage was wonderful with it's easy access to the very well appointed kitchen/lounge, beautiful bedrooms with walk in wardrobe. The shower/wet room and toilet is not only very well appointed but also wheelchair friendly. Much thought has been put into the layout design even the washing machine is accessible from a wheelchair or even those of us with arthritic knees! The two bedrooms upstairs provides excellent accommodation for a couple with children.
Outside there is a swimming pool for summer months and an excellent SAFE play area with swings, slide, jumping frame etc., they also have ducks, rabbets and chickens adding a interesting distraction for the children. The owners have a ten year old granddaughter who is bilingual and friendly so ideal when guests have children.
The area offers a wealth of historic places to visit, shops and events etc.
We visited France about four times a year for many years and stay in gites, this has to be one of the best we have used! So please give it a try, you will love it!
