We had stayed 11 years earlier without children --we arrived 28th July for 1 week and had booked a family room which was nice could not complain, it is old style but still would be nice to watch 30 minutes tv no English channels and really poor wifi not acceptable in 2018 especially with kids -- breakfast fine but got boring after 3 days as they never change it no fresh fruit -- reception staff friendly on surface but what looks like a 4 star really just a 3 star at best -- no place to shower if checking out later in day wanted to charge us 80 euro for a shower and female at reception horrible when I mentioned they should have facilities
Also witnessed a receptionist being unpleasant to an elderly German guest who had no air conditioning -- overall could be great as building nice but staff seemed annoyed by guests especially reception who had very different levels of service --if going to Sicily there is more choice and Hellenia not up to 4 star level

Room Tip: they wont respond to requests

We arrived late in the evening and on entering our bedroom I noticed it was very stuffy .
Next morning I asked at reception if the air conditioning in our room could be checked and was told there would be no air conditioning switched on until the first of June (this was the last week in may and daytime temperature was 28/29 ) not very good for what is supposed to be a four star hotel. After 4 days it was switched on probably because there were a few American tours staying and they complained.
The breakfast was just about adequate not a huge selection.
Check out is 11am and as we were not due to be collected to travel to the airport until 6pm I enquired about a late check out and was advised we would have to leave our room as it was required for new guests which is understandable but a charge of 50 euro would apply to have another room until 4pm.i declined this and asked if a room would be available for a shower later as is normal but was told this would incur a charge of 30 euro overall I did not feel they were interested in repeat business.

Room Tip: a room with sea view wold be best as this would be away from local noise at night

I’m sure this hotel was once very iuxurious but it is now rather tired and faded. The position is good - right on the beach and the terrace and swimming pool are very nice. The dining room and public areas are also fine but the rooms leave a little to be desired. Our room was large and the bed was comfortable, but the bathroom was awful. It was dirty and the smell from the drains was very strong. We did complain and this improved but never went away completely. The shower drain was also blocked so the shower tray overflowed. We had a large balcony, but it was also dirty, as was the wrought iron table and chairs. You can see Mount Etna from some of the rooms, but not from ours! The staff are generally friendly but the waiters very unprofessional. It was a lottery who got food and when!

We stayed in this hotel as part of a tour. Apparently the rooms vary greatly in size as ours was tiny but we had a great view. Others in our group had much bigger rooms. Our shower was almost the size of what you would find in a camper, small, small. It was a clean room with a king sized bed. We were able to leave the window open all night and listen to the ocean. The hotel is very conveniently located to restaurants, not so much to shops. The staff was average I would say. Not overly friendly but not surly. The morning breakfast is a buffet and it is average. There is abundance of food choices , it just wasn't all that good. But the room and hotel is clean and I would recommend it for a moderately priced hotel in Giardini Naxos.
