We went to visit friends in Chieti and they booked the Hotel Garibaldi for us.
It is a very small, friendly place. Very very basic. We had the biggest room (116) - this consisted of a double bed with fitted wardrobes around and a dressing table. It had a huge bathroom just like a wet room, just a shower, toliet, bidet and sink. The sheets on the bed and the towels were changed every day and they were so crisp, clean and white. The room was spotless, as were the corridors etc. We could not fault the hotel at all, it cost 55 euros per room per night. There was no bar or restaurant but there is one next door, which opens very early for cappucino and pastries and later for beers. Parking in Garibaldi square, which was pay and display but very cheap. Excellent base for touring Abruzzo.
