Wonderful! - Excellent location, charming place with generous hosts.
Enjoyed lovely walks in the nature [ saw a.o. deers, foxes, a martin, wild red squirrels and a great family of boars with young!]
Loved our daily drives through the pretty local villages on our way to the main cities, ate really well at charming affordable restaurants.
The house is super, very comfortable and well equipped [ including lots of maps and books on Tuscany]
Really hope to go back!

“Great little gem!”

This place had absolutely everything we needed and more. Very well appointed and centrally located to do many side trips (Florence, Siena, Castellina, Pienza, Montalcino, etc.). Absolutely loved the setting, you are really in the Tuscan landscape with beautiful garden and fauna. We didn't see deer but we saw owls and many other types of birds. Leitha and Fabio were wonderful hosts. Many good tips and suggestions. Would definitely do it again!

“Perfect place to relax”

We had a wonderful week at Le Ripe. The location is perfect – ideal for exploring the region or for doing absolutely nothing. Fantastic and inexpensive restaurant at the end of the road as well. The property itself is lovely, well equipped and has a very homely feel to it, helped by Leitha and Fabio being such great hosts (always around and wonderfully friendly whenever you need them but careful not to compromise your privacy). We visited in mid-winter and, whilst we were undoubtedly lucky with the weather, wouldn't hesitate to recommend a winter visit. We enjoyed huddling round the wood burner, watching the moody weather over the Tuscan hills and of course the complete lack of tourists!

“Idyllic & tranquil in every respect!”
Reviewed 4 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We have just returned from a week spent at Le Ripe, a more perfect base for exploring everything that the Region has to offer, I'm not sure you'd find. Admittedly the narrow access road was a challenge on our first attempt, but once at the property & having had such a welcome from Leitha, we took in the surroundings & the views & knew we were going to enjoy our week immensely.
The property has been tastefully restored & furnished in a traditional style with everything you could expect by way of facilities. There are great restaurants a short drive a way, along with a good local shop for provisions. This property & location are simply beautiful & we would highly recommend it to anyone considering a booking. We will certainly visit again!
Thank you again Leitha

“Le Ripe, Perfect Chianti Getaway”
Reviewed 3 October 2013 for a stay in September 2013

We spent 6 days at Le Ripe, a fantastic cottage perched on a hill over looking the town of Lucarelli in Chianti, only a few km's from Panzano. Leith and Fabio are great hosts and offer you any ideas on travel or sightseeing in the local area, which is beautiful. There is a steep rocky road up to Le Ripe, and the views of the area are stunning. It's a worl away from busy Florence and only 1 hour by bus, as you would not want to take a car into Florence, believe me!! In any case the local bus takes you through the great Chianti countryside, just outside Firenze. There is fantasitic restaurant at the bottom of the hill, Osteria Le Panzanelle, with a huge range of local wines and great well priced meals, you will have a great nigh! Within easy reach of many of the best this region has to offer including Siena, San Gimignano, Florence and beautiful Hill Towns like Volpaia. Panzano has a Coop supermarket and other restaurants and great wine tasting. Greve is only a few km's past Panzano and the Piazza in the town is a gem, of you want to buy a leather belt, you can't go past the little leather shop-forget the Florence leather markets for a belt, this is the real deal measured on the spot no bs just great service.
Le Ripe is a great cottage with everything you will need, including a fireplace and local wildlife!
