Castle, Museum, Exercise, food and nice veiw in one place. A really nice place for the community and people of Brescia. I came here by Metro from Bresciadue station to San Faustino station for 1.4 Euro (90 mins in train system) which is more than enough for traveling and jogging.

As the title suggests, we walked from the town and up the narrow streets to the castle. Interesting yet exhausting.
The climb was worthwhile as the castle itself was fascinating and the view from the ramparts spectacular. On the day of our arrival the town was carrying out a re-enactment of the German assault of the castle in 1238. Period costume, armour and weapons. The castle has an armour museum with a host of genuine armour and weapons dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries.
You can stand on the drawbridge and imagine the scenes from centuries past.

There are a lot of steps to get to the top but well worth it as the views are stunning , we stopped just before the top where there was a beautiful bar (near a car Park)

What an incredible castle. The grounds are extensive and beautifully maintained. The views over Brescia are fabulous. We visited for an afternoon with children aged 3 and 7, and the whole family loved it. We really couldn’t believe that the entry was free. So much space, including beautiful grassed and pathed areas, for the children to run and explore. It is located very close to the centre of town. Definitely worth a visit and we hope to return.
