The lobby is hard and not cosy, with a awful acoustic problem
The breakfast is the absolute minimum .
The bar is ,.....is there a bar?
The rooms are ok, but as above mentioned, also the strict minimum.
In fact, the hotel has the potential of a boutique hotel, but in reality, it's a cheap passage hotel.The architecture is faking.
Pitty
Modern building in what is otherwise an unremarkable and run down town. Bra is a 30 min drive from all the wineries we visited and the roads are quite busy. Not a cheap hotel for the location and for what you get.
PRO'S: Staff are friendly, rooms are spacious and clean and the real highlight of the stay was the breakfast.
However, some big NEGATIVES - which for me were deal breakers - were: (1) NOISE: very noisy rooms - unable to sleep past 7.30am when the bedroom doors around you start slamming, our room was also next to the parking lot which didn't help. Plus we could hear our upstairs neighbours walk around in their room (2) LOCATION: Bra is not a pretty town (compared to other Italian tourists towns in the vicinity) and is not that well located for winery visits. The 2 restaurants we visited were all among the top rated on Tripadvisor for Bra but both were nothing very special.
Overall we won't recommend or return to this town/ hotel as from quick searches I can see there are many similarly priced options in the heart of the wine country (where you can find picturesque hill top towns with breathtaking views) e.g. La Morra, especially if you come by car.
When I book the hotel, I had some doubts because checking through Google Earth area doesn't look so beautiful in comparison with others locations. When I arrived the impression was more positive: hotel is located near city center of Bra. Hotel is inside an old court in a old building, that previously was used as cellar. Refurbishments is very nice, modern, and with some brilliant idea as a keyhole to see through the wall. Rating is not 5 stars because service and breakfast are not 5 stars. Furthermore in the area you can find some more beautiful locations,but price is an high value in comparison at quality and hotel standard.
Wonderful hotel. Modern design but very homey at the same time. Front desk attendants were always smiling and very helpful. Great breakfast and charming restaurant just across the courtyard had wonderful food! I recommend this hotel highly. Don't miss the winery tour if possible, it's in the lower level of the hotel The owners have their own vineyard and super wines you can buy!
Travelled to Bra on business, stayed at the hotel, what a pleasure, beautiful room, large with a modern feel, bathroom is fantastic with powerful shower, Given a free bottle of wine with the room, win win, if you have time take the wine tour as the hotel is above it. Will be back as luckily my H/O I'd based here
