Just an overnight on a battlefield tour so no time to look around. Comfy, nice food and good buffet breakfast. Reception was very efficient in processing a group of hot and tired people and giving us our rooms. Looks like a nice hotel to spend a holiday.

Acceptable decent room, clean and just infront of the beach. However, the four stars is questionable as it is not a four star hotel. Even so, good value for money and an extra + to very friendly staff.

Room: The room was a decent size, and typical decor for Europe. Flowery bedding & curtains. The air con worked well, and the balcony was a decent size. The balconies in the main 4 start hotel were quite dangerous, as they are metal and have a gap at the bottom than a small toddler could fit through and fall.
Location: The hotel does not have too many other amenities around. There was a pizza place, and a small shop to buy essentials. otherwise it was a good 20 min walk into Anzio Town, which was really nice.
Food: We did not eat in the restaurant, however some of our group did and said it was too pricey for what was on offer. Therefore we chose not to eat there, which was a shame. as it would have been ideal to stay in the hotel to eat dinner.
Snack Bar: The pool had a snack bar, where you could order some local fish, which was amazing. Some of the group ordered Lobster and it was very nice.
The staff were friendly and willing to make anything you wished to eat.
Language: We found that by not speaking Italian at all, it was hard to communicate to restaurants, and other staff.
STAFF: The staff really were willing to help and as we were a big group for a wedding, they ensured everything possible ran smoothly.
Pool: The pool was a good size, and there was enough sun loungers for everyone. It was nice that we could walk to the beach from the hotel and the views were lovely.

it seemed that the 3 star rooms, had a better view of the sea, than the 4 star rooms. Which i thought was slightly odd. But we didnt spend much time in the room, so it didnt matter to us.

Room Tip: 3 star rooms had a better sea view, but 4 star rooms were nicer inside

The Grand Hotel Dei Cesari has a stunning 4 star hotel and a 3 star accommodation right on the sea fron where the pool is. We stayed in the 3 star accommodation and the view from the sea front is spectacular. We ate in the 4 star hotel for breakfast which is connected by a private tunnel under the main road which separated the 2 blocks. Our room had the usual features minus the kettle and was well maintained. The shower cubical was tiny and as I am 6'5" I had turn the water off and open the doors to wash below my waist. Anzio is a quiet town and this hotel is a 30 minute walk to the town centre and there isn't much by way of local shops and restaurants. It's a great hotel if you want a quiet poolside holiday.
